So....I attended a Presbyterian church in Michigan yesterday. The order of service was familiar to me, and even the hymns. (I grew up Presbyterian). The people were very nice...a congregation of about 30 in a church suited for at least 100. Nice building. They don't have a minister and are relying on guest speakers. The person who does liturgy spoke to me right away. Turns out he is the statistician for the high school football teams, and he is also the announcer at the games. Remember how football crazy Michigan is? He knows my grandson, so we had a bit of a visit. When he told me how hard it is to get ministers when churches are struggling to stay alive, I said that I understood and that I lead worship for churches who are facing the same predicament in Canada. He then offered me the chance to lead worship there if I'm back at my daughter's place some Sunday! From the prayers, I felt a sense that this church sees the same craziness in their government that we see. Interesting.

My sense is that the mainstream and progressive churches are by and large opposed to the current government. Even the more conservative and evangelical mainstream ones. It's a radical (or maybe reactionary?) segment of evangelicals who align with MAGA that are the regime's Christian base.

Sounds like an interesting church experience.
 
Is it something that the leaders would like us to ignore ... the craziness that has somehow slipped into the quiet? Resembling bull horn ...

Always someone wanting to be loud ... a tout ...
 
Church on Sunday was a touch sad for my Yeobo and I. That's because on July 12 the Senior Pastor told me that our church is letting me go as a Pastor at the end of August. And this past Sunday, I shared the news with the Sunday School teachers I work with.

However, at the same time as my Yeobo and I are sad, we're also excited. We believe God must have some new plan for us. It's been a great 4 years in our church, and we look forward to what might be ahead

Take the Trumpian resolution ... just ignore all rules and keep on doing the same thing ... be firm remain pious about it ... fixated?

Some of the opposite sects disagree and yet some of them think abuse is wonderful ... thus the beating sounds over the line ... incompressible border?

Lost Horizon ... draws some wild wanderers ... especially about socialism and commutation ...

Commutation is said in some explanations to include reduction ... eventually to nothing ... resembling what we were initially ... mortals have to go to make more room for immortal domains ... spatial? Is that clear ...

Leave it out on the levy and someone will cloud it ... levitation? Can someone lend a lift?

Sometimes there are no words for our misunderstanding ... being understanding is not high compared to great will ...

Just so many dispersed and dissemmnated word ... scattered seed of thought ... and you know what thought thought ... nothing to be repeated!

Thank you, Jayne. I was actually the church's English Ministry Pastor. That included serving both the English language Sunday School and a small English language worship service/Bible study for adults

Thank you, Mendalla. I trust God will use the skills I believe he's given me these last four years in some new way or another. I don't know if I'll ever be a Pastor again, but I'd welcome the opportunity or if not a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study teacher, or something. Who knows what the future may hold
 
Pray for the best for you @Jaebius. I might lead worship in Michigan…I’ll be dog-sitting again in the fall…if the dogs are still alive. So I would offer for that Sunday…but we’ll see.

Thank you, Nancy. I hope your worship leading goes well too. As for dogs, I don't know too much about them, even though my family had a couple when I was a kid and teen
