The last time I was out in Victoria Park (Kitchener, not London) with Dad before he went into the home where he died we saw like two or three of them. Never seen them all together like that before.

You see the odd heron around the Bay, usually very early in the morning. They also fleetingly visit the odd stocked pond. Carp/goldfish beware!

Our local heron seems to have moved on. He comes for our trout which are hungry in the spring so swimming up high for the bugs. It now that the water is warmer they are deeper and that seems to discourage the heron. Hubby gets very annoyed at him stealing his pet fish

It's interesting to see what might be "wildflowers" on Vancouver Island versus elsewhere. All those gorgeous fuschia are annuals in the rest of Canada.

Yes. I would call that an English style perennial garden. Didn’t see wild flowers though the garden does look “wild”

That's really all I meant. Sort of rustic and disorganized (more Central/ Southern European? I think of English gardens as more planned.) They were taking up what would otherwise be the front yard.

I picked this today. It was growing on the grassy edge of the sidewalk, by itself, with a bunch of dandelions. I feel a bit guilty. I think I should've left it there in its uniqueness. Incidentally, the coffee flavoured vodka is great in hot chocolate. I was going to buy cider that day, but it was cold out so I tried that instead.image.jpeg

Is that a tribble on the chair? Or a cat? Or what?

But I love the flower and coffee-flavoured vodka? Hmmm. Sounds intriguing.
