I found this old frame and these pots left out for free on neighbours' curbs last week. I have another project in mind for them. This is against the side of the house. I think those are weeds!

I'm on a roll! I'm starting to remind myself of my friend in Vancouver who'd have me over to look at travel photos...and she'd sit me in front of her computer - and they were all pictures of every flower she saw and every meal she ate...100's of them...for hours...and they were nice but after awhile  and I couldn't be rude and get up to leave. She was too excited by every single one! She went to the other side of the world and all her photos were flowers and food! "We were here (some interesting place) and this is the flower I saw!" Etc.

No complaints here. We may get snow tonight so this is about the only flowers I am seeing. I may knick one to refresh the header image some day if you're okay with that. Due credit will be given.

KImmio thanks for sharing your photos. I'd love to see what you could do with a 'real' camera!

There are three lonely blooms in my yard today - pulmonaria. They were a gift from a dear friend who made a trip to spend time with me after my son's accident in 2000.. She correctly thought that something to plant would bring more joy than an 'arrangement'.

I made my way through the fancy old neighbourhood on the less rustic side of the tracks from me. I saw some stunning gardens. I don't know if it's okay to take (and post) photos of the whole houses though. I try not to get house numbers in the frame. I made it almost to the ocean-side before my phone died. Then, my scooter battery dropped to a third. I snapped out of my creative trance pretty fast! I made it home on 1/3 power and it stayed that way. My battery acts funny. I can go hours with no change. Then, when it drops at all I never know how much longer it'll last. Could be another hour. Could be 15 minutes.

I'll have to go back again another time.

I agree with Mendella. Here the tulips and daffodils are coming but it is all very slow.
And - this IS a thread about blooms- so go ahead! ( but thanks for asking. I know that situation. I once traveled with a friend to Finnland where we visited an elderly lady who showed us hours of pictures of relatives, talking Finnish- which I didn’t speak. Flowers would have been much more interesting)
By the way- the tall oneof the purple flowers is an Allium.

That tree worth skinny leaves and white flowers is, I think, an Oleander

the tall purple ball flower is an Alum. Part of the onion family. but not edible

and in the photo of the frame, I think those are maiden head ferns

there is a great app you should download. It’s iNaturalist. You upload a photo and it gives you the most likely name. You can search for info on the app about the item. Then other people who are checking will chime in if they agree. You can also then look at photos others in your area have posted and see what interesting plants they have found

plants and animals

i uploaded a photo of a wood stork in Florida and it got picked up by the endangered birds of America group. Which is kind of cool. I have used it to identify lots of moths and mushrooms and plants. And if you upload things like monarchs it helps with tracking
