In my understanding, Divine Grace is not something that robs the human being from their free will to receive it or reject it. It would not be Grace anymore if it robs the human being of their free will to embrace it. Conversely, our free will is one of the greatest graces of God to us. It is the means by which we can rise to our highest potential as we seek deeper knowledge and exercise our free will to journey every closer to our Creator. It is what makes us human beings.
Our free will is at once of our greatest gifts and of our greatest liabilities. The potential possible for human beings cannot be reached otherwise, in my understanding.
Hence, can the gift of Grace be wasted, abused or polluted? Never from God's side, He is the Holy, He is the Just, He is the Wise, never without God's will, He is the All-powerful; certainly from the side of the human being who exercises their free will to respond with rejection and ingratitude.
And hence the critical question, in my understanding: the responsibility and the role of the human being in being the greatest recipient and reflection of God's Grace which showers equally and without stop upon all human beings alike. Hence, the question about a journey, a map, a guide..
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. It is helping me think about these critical questions. I am learning a lot from you.
