Left, right, up-down layers to the axis ... if caught in the centre you will be accused of meddling with the medium ... polity doesn't like the medium as it forces one to look 2 ways ... thus all over sentients! Scattered?

It may come on as a splash ... given the dun*ken needed to suffer the experience ... total immersion?

Read the full article before any here go full "antivaxxer!/provaxxer!" stance

Its important stuff
Important thing to keep in mind is that this is a non-binding decision by a tribunal and will likely carry little weight in court. I am not really sure it will stand up to scrutiny by a judge.

That's an interesting article @Delightful Life. I'm not surprised by it. The pandemic revealed that in many cases, people are more productive when they can do some work from home. I like the idea of a team based rather than top down approach to deciding work environment. I personally would have loved the opportunity to work from home on paperwork days.

Yeah
I rememeber seeing reports by vsrious emloyers goong what is going on? there are enough jobsz why arent people coming back to work?

lol

because they have, thanks to the mandates and help from Trudeau, 45 and Biden, found out what Real Freedom tastes like lol

so many don't like being forced to work to stay alive...

it is an artifical and abhuman contruct

Imagine all the returns and the bosses struggling with board meetings on the greens ...

I observed that and many other enigmas of business advantages ... so much to put together with little returns!

Yeah, and that also ties into the MAiD discussion. If you can’t work, or can’t work safely with appropriate accommodations or can’t get hired to work - it’s legislated poverty. And legislated poverty leads to more complex problems in staying alive in this economy, which pushes more people to MAiD. Then the govt(s) always pop up with disability employment initiatives and the public act like that’s brand new when they’ve been recycling the same initiatives for 20+ yrs and it hasn’t changed much for us (I know, I worked on such things and was let down and realized why I was on the wrong side) Everytime there’s a labour shortage they trot out “here’s why you should hire (ie use) disabled people: they’re loyal and committed (ie under duress and dying to work for whatever scraps you give them)”… work or die really takes on an extra sinister element in the shadow of Bill C7 after disability rights have been destroyed. Covid has created more disability, too.

I missed this thread for about a week. To clarify my comments about authorities pretending to be competent, they pretended to know the virus was spread by droplets and that it could be spread by contact with surfaces that had droplets on them. There was information about how long the virus could survive on various surfaces. They could have said they do not know how it is spread but it is part of a family of viruses that include cold viruses. What we believe about the transmission of cold viruses is such and such. Strategies that help slow down the spread of cold viruses include....

They could have shared scientifically determined data as it became available. Health Canada could have apologized for failing to maintain up to date supplies of personal protective equipment and for failing to maintain preparations for potential epidemics.

Pretending to know more than they did caused an enormous loss of confidence in them.

They also failed to have a team that could examine the balances of risks and benefits to overall health of various strategies and bern open to developing protocols to reduce harn due to social isolation.

The federal government has destroyed more than 14 million unused and expired doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far this year, with four million more doses set to exceed their shelf life by 2023’s end, amid dwindling vaccine demand.

Meanwhile, millions more doses of yet-to-be approved, revamped vaccines targeting the latest Omicron offshoots are due to arrive this fall.

I suggest that there are elements of society that will criticize any communication from government or scientists.

They seek to spread discord and falsify information and undermine their target.

There are those who alo distrust anything from official sources.

They are a perfect landing zone for false information to be nurtured.

Now combine it with a crisis. When you want people doing, getting things done, reducing risk. When the time is about reducing casualties, keeping society moving.

Perfect communications will not occur.

If you wait to get everything right, people will die.

We, as the recipients of the information need also to do our best and adapt. Manage risk. Find legit sources of information. Contribute, not be a frickin mosquito.

I did not want them to wait for all the data. I wanted them to be honest about not knowing how the virus spread and saying that, if the virus spreads like the cold virus, then reducing contact with other people will help a lot to avoid getting sick. If it is spread by droplets like some cold viruses, then keeping 2 m from other people should be fairly safe and sanitizing all surfaces will make a difference. Being honest at the beginning about the limits of what they knew would have protected their credibility. Within three weeks it was clear that Covid-19 spread as an aerosol and ordinary cloth masks would only provide modest protection and were most useful in reducing spread by people with a respiratory virus.

Dr. Tam and other leaders seemed to put political expediency ahead of the science.

A big fail today is not stressing the importance of improving ventilation in all buildings used by the public to reduce the transmission of sll respiratory illnesses.

I must have watched different news than you.

I saw conflicting reports as information was gathered.

You must have seen absolutes and no adjustments as information was learned

At the end of March 2020, health authorities asserted the virus was spread by droplets and the 2 m distance was promoted. Playgrounds were closed as a result and stayed closed way longer than necessary.

It’s not healthy to have unquestioning faith in government any more than it’s healthy to believe in no government at all. Yes, public health orders are important - but they weren’t giving the public all the information they knew when they new it.

Of course. Information was not clear. Errored on side of risk reduction.

Data took time to filter through and undo those restrictions. Some didn't due to risk aversion or focus in other areas.

In a crisis, life is complicated.

You seem to expect perfection amidst the chaos

Curious, have you ever been in a cris involving more than a 1000 people where facts are unclear, where discovering a are occurring in the midst of the chaos

Can you imagine when it is millions?

Can you imagine when lives are at risk
