What about "antigenic escape" being a cause?
The delta variant seems to be better at causing infections in general, so it makes sense that the viral load can increase faster, vaccine or not. Then it's slightly different than what the vaccines were designed for.
They still are effective against it, just less so. Overall there are still less infections to begin with due to vaccination.

Where is win win though? Have you been to the emergency room during this? I have. Things there were a mess.

That was a bit of sarcasm. If you're going to behave like an idiot, the consequences will follow. I feel sorry for anyone who needs elective work right now.

Had tomget groceries today and Superstore has removed all direction arrows and one way barriers. I think they are a bit early. Daily numbers are creeping up. Moncton, NB has an outbreak, we are having 6-10 new cases a day. Thankfully, only one person in hospital, still. But most people seem to think it’s over. The don’t seem to hear the news from other contries.

Dumb luck ... silence! If one doesn't hear the coast is clear! Then there's that print medium ... why the brawn type would sooner the other be illiterate!

That defines brute ...

Most stores here still have the arrows down but don't seem to be enforcing them. Though that was always the case in some. I have seen people go the wrong way right in front of staff and no one said boo.

Many of the masses don't know right from left or up from down but will state definitively what it is ... leaving the ordinary in miasma ... right of the stage say you don't know ... and hear the nonsense you're told! This may be the start of filtering order ... why some folk must be passed through grits ...

The toilet paper and paper towel rush has started again at Costco in anticipation of a Covid surge in the winter months...

One store in this area had the arrows in the aisles, sort of enforced it for about 3 weeks, then gave it up. The arrows are still there, but just for decoration, seemingly.

Arrows in stores frustrate me. I've generally tried to be in stores when they are less busy. It is possible to keep a distance from someone going the other direction in most stores. That being said, I do respect the arrows for the most part.

I just read this excellent article. It shows how Covid-19 could evolve into a common cold type illness with time. How we live with coronavirus forever.

Many scientists have said the more vaccines the more chances of variants. ....
Where have you heard or read this, can you cite anything?
The reason that I ask, is that is far from what I have heard from scientists.
What I understand is that vaccines can basically stop variants from having a place to spread.

Note: i realize that i took that one off topic, as it moved into a COVID / Vaccination item, and should be in that thread. If someone wants to move it, that would be great. (I may report it)

Can you imagine what this will come too without due care about things out and about?

Those things may never be the same again as they get irresponsible for all the rest of what surrounds us!

However; who cares?

I don't think it was any secret that vaccination probably was not going to bring an end to this. Tamp down the flames, but not put out the fire. Already expecting to be getting a third dose. Given that I am already mixed dose, not entirely sure what that should be but I guess I'll see when they get to my age/disease group. I have no problem with masking and distancing continuing until that is sorted out.

14% of those hospitalized in AB right now are fully vaccinated, if I have the stats correct. I don't think that was really expected, at least not that many with so much spread happening too. Case counts are high.
