I don't follow the WHO statement about vaccine mixing and matching being a dangerous trend and that it's data free and evidence free.
Is it well studied yet? No.
There is certainly data and evidence, although early.
I felt like the mix and match decision was a better informed one than delaying doses.
For those who got AZ as their first dose, I think a 2nd of mRNA is the better way to go with what the current evidence shows.
As for mix and match with the mRNA vaccines, I don't know how closely the sequences match, would be nice to see those displayed, aligned. As for different delivery systems? It's not something that would concern me at this time. Biggest issue I see is the dosing timeframes especially when it comes to who needs a 3rd dose. Hopefully early mix and match recipients can be monitored to figure that out alongside those who stayed on brand.

Those that rush into it ... will they be fools or just winners?

We don't know yet as the whole thing isn't over yet! Is that an integral thought ... then if knowledge is considered evil ... eliminate that!

I really don't know much of the isolated human perspective ... tis yet autonomous!

It was not an official statement, just comments made by WHO's chief scientist in a press conference. And they walked them back partially afterwards, saying individuals should not decide to mix doses but public health agencies can based on available data. So basically, the usual confusing WHO babble.

Still, I think really inappropriate. Especially the data free and evidence free comment as that's just wrong.
Individuals here did get a choice when 1st dose was AZ and I see nothing wrong with that.

Well, WHO's chief scientist needing to get some lessons in media relations is the problem. Expressing what is basically a personal opinion in a formal press conference about something this important strikes me as the usual problem of a scientist not knowing how to handle the media. Walking it back in a tweet just exacerbates image issues WHO was already struggling with. WHO scientists who talk to the media need to be on Carl Sagan/Neil deGrasse Tyson levels of media relations ability and this one clearly ain't there.

Chaos is by far preferable to divide and conquer ... it is all about winning and thus anything mundane as cooperation is out!

So it all goes down in a heap ... do to lack of unmentionables ... thinking demos ... you can't see them from here!

I don't think they need that level of media savviness, but they do need to be able to speak with clarity on facts.
Ie. I care much more about the specific messaging, precision and accuracy, they don't need the charisma.,

I was thinking more about being prepared, on message, and only going off script with careful thought or qualification. But, to be honest, a Sagan-calibre media advocate for vaccination wouldn't hurt at this stage, especially in the US where hesitancy has brought their program to a standstill in some states.

This whole vaccine hesitancy is interesting and the general public being more aware of what is being put into our bodies. I can honestly say most people rarely knew or questioned what virus' the flu shot was fighting during any given year let alone what was in it or how it worked.
I find this refreshing.

Yeah, typically there are different flu vaccines being used in each province and most people don't really care. I think even with the live vaccine nasal sprays, there was a fair bit of ignorance. When it came to the injections though, I didn't see a big difference between one flu vaccine to another, just like I don't really care about Moderna vs. Pfizer.

I still wonder though, how many people understand mRNA? Do they have a good idea of how it differences from DNA? It's function in general compared to say rRNA, tRNA? Especially when it comes to those who are quite vocal against the vaccines.

That would be a good topic for those in charge to clear up.

I think a general vaccination mandate will trigger some major upset that may not be worth the trouble. As in, the mask protests were a picnic compared to what would happen. However, targeted mandates in sectors like longterm care and other health sectors would be worth considering.

I think I'd add childcare/education to that list of sectors. The newest wave of the Delta variant seems to be hitting children particularly hard. And if we can't vaccinate the under-12's, we can vaccinate their teachers/caregivers.

Mandatory vaccinations ( with some exceptions for people with medical reasons) in healthcare would help reduce the huge amount of garbage from the constant testing they are doing.

Given the rush for power will the stranger information system fail in the light of emotional rants? IÇ ...

This may form a gap in the center line that separates the two contraries in the natural putting down of psyche as a lessor energy ... thus the flame goes on taking up a position at the end of the abstract tunnel as a vision ... so as to be inhibited!

May resemble Perseus in a mythical parallel ... sort of ambiguous metaphor! The world seems to be partly made up of such bits ... and darker icons are worth looking into .... that's the word! It demands we gather a lot ... and still the hunt goes on ...
