I don't follow the WHO statement about vaccine mixing and matching being a dangerous trend and that it's data free and evidence free.
Is it well studied yet? No.
There is certainly data and evidence, although early.
I felt like the mix and match decision was a better informed one than delaying doses.
For those who got AZ as their first dose, I think a 2nd of mRNA is the better way to go with what the current evidence shows.
As for mix and match with the mRNA vaccines, I don't know how closely the sequences match, would be nice to see those displayed, aligned. As for different delivery systems? It's not something that would concern me at this time. Biggest issue I see is the dosing timeframes especially when it comes to who needs a 3rd dose. Hopefully early mix and match recipients can be monitored to figure that out alongside those who stayed on brand.
