A) immunity from the shots and from infection fades

B) like the flu, SARS-COV-2 mutates easily and often so last year's shot might not be effective, or at least as effective, against the latest strain. So the new shot that came out this Fall is geared to a more recent strain of Omicron than the bivalent from last year

I got my flu shot. COVID will follow in a bit.

A) But we still can get sick while vaccinated? How is that "Immunity"? The word Immunity to me means 100% Protection?

Help me :3

You can still get flu after flu vaccination too. Vaccination boosts your body's ability to fight off a viral infection, reducing the impact of the infection. You might not get sick at all or you might get a much less serious illness. Some vaccines do seem to be more effective than others. Polio, measles, and some other vaccines do seem to completely prevent illness. Flu and COVID are less so, but could still be the difference between a couple days off work and a trip to the hospital.

While it wasn't originally studied with the development of the vaccines, the risk of long COVID is likely decreased due to vaccination as well.

Always remember that in reality nothing is perfect ... the only perfect realm is all in your psyche (head-space?) and a great many people do not believe in such things ... thinking is said to be evil! Look what the great mystery said about the tree of knowledge!

That concept was a failure ... here in NB industry has removed much of that old growth! Not much classic recall left ...
 
I'm good with just reducing my risk of serious illness. That's why I get the covid and flu shots. The guy who gave me them yesterday was great.

Every pharmacy I've been in around here has rapid tests.
 
We get a Halloween candy when getting our shot at work ( flu). There is also a contest sponsored by an insurance company if you submit your name you can win $2000. Covid shot you have to organize yourself at the pharmacy.

I have been feeling anxious lately
So then people shouls not use the term Immunity then? Unless it means a different thing? I would nominate Resistance? These technologies increase Resistance and Resistance can fade over time?


I am getting my software Update tomorrow...and the Influenza stab as well

Since I am feeling anxious I do hope no one got triggered by me asking any of the above

I am still worried aboot people being essentially racist/Demonizing to entire groups of people

This is still a safe enuf place for me
We have been quite fortunate to have a place like this

Resistance is a good word for it.

There have been observational studies on long covid and vaccination does appear to lower rates. No clinical trial as far as I'm aware of, all real word data.
 
Keep in mind you have an “immune system”- which doesn’t mean that you are immune to everything. It’s just dealing with making you more resistant- with different outcomes, depending on multiple factors.
 
Nothing is immune ... only nothing remains the same with out change. Even God changes; in word, essence and place if not time when you consider old words that form the metaphors do float and drift about ... thus the spins and stirs get complex and turbulent as dark waves out there in deep space as All the Light e Cannot See maybe radio active and dance!

Well jumped up ... all from a person being entered into research to form connections between CSD, immune irregularities and inflammation of living tissues ... would being observed make the complexity shy and thus go into comic relief? Is that only odd when viewed from beyond the situation? Thus we should get out more into the abstract portions ... these are shady and generally great unknowns ... madding some say! That odd and little used word was defined at one time as the cruel heart! The heart can kill yah ...
 
Hopefully when y'all get your Updates (Bonnie Henry), software injections (CBC), wether you get the Vaxxine (non mrna) or the gene therapy (mrna), ya get the mutations/powers you wanted
