If I saw teh slide correctly this morning on the news there is one (maybe two) recent poll(s) showing a very slight Liberal lead, most seem to be pretty much neck and neck or a slight CPC lead (far from the 20 or so points from earlier this year)And the rumours today are saying election on April 28 with the writ dropping on the weekend. That means a bare minimum length campaign. Not much time for the Liberals to catch the Conservatives, but maybe enough given current trends. Even holding Poilievre to a minority would be a victory given far ahead he was at the end of last year.
Which would tend to mean a minority of one or the other except that distribution matters in our first past the post system so a lot rides on where that support is located and how thin it is spread. If I saw teh slide correctly this morning on the news there is one (maybe two) recent poll(s) showing a very slight Liberal lead, most seem to be pretty much neck and neck or a slight CPC lead (far from the 20 or so points from earlier this year)
I am sure in the Big Power Games of the world, most of the Big People can handle itI hate to see anyone negotiate with Trump ... obviously he can corrupt God itself ...
Again, this is my thread and I wasn't replying to a convo there :3Then maybe you should reply to serious conversations with something more meaningful than outfit observations. It's sorta like talking about Madame Curie's eyeshadow colour choices. Or John Steinbeck's taste in socks.
He’s a distinctly American tyrant (who admires strongmen). But their political and legal systems weren’t robust enough (unfortunately the superpower didn’t protect itself from this) to prevent someone like him from running because they were already corrupted by deciding that money=speech (corporate money, dark money) and - astonishingly in retrospect - there was nothing in their laws to prevent a felon from running for the highest office. If their hotshot lawyers can make such corruption possible, maybe there are some who can argue successfully that it be impossible in the future, and build in better safeguards into their election rules. But we have to get through the present, for now.I hate to see anyone negotiate with Trump ... obviously he can corrupt God itself ...

I mean, they have had to deal with people like Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Stalin, Bush Sr, Idi Amin and so forth
There are still monsters alas in power and, well...
I do grok what you are saying. So best just not to give it your attention -- the Goddess Media is thriving on all this attention

How can you invoke Groucho to criticize a liberal politician from a conservative standpoint??? The guy was Jewish, a Democrat and anti-fascist. When a private, conservative swimming club denied his daughter a membership because the family was Jewish, he famously pointed out the girl's mom wasn't Jewish so maybe she could wade into the pool up to her waist?
Groucho would not have been on your side.
