Like Carney. He's intelligent and has good ideas and experience. However, I feel it would be a mistake to have him in any kind of negotiation with Trump. Our best option for the latter would be Singh. Because Carney and Poilivre are XXTJ's and Trump's an ESTJ. We need someone who's an XXFX. With Trudeau, the ENFP, out, our best choice now is Singh, the ENFJ

If I saw teh slide correctly this morning on the news there is one (maybe two) recent poll(s) showing a very slight Liberal lead, most seem to be pretty much neck and neck or a slight CPC lead (far from the 20 or so points from earlier this year)

Which would tend to mean a minority of one or the other except that distribution matters in our first past the post system so a lot rides on where that support is located and how thin it is spread.

I am sure in the Big Power Games of the world, most of the Big People can handle it

Why would your only comment be about his 'collar'? Why do you persist in the superficial. Will you never get beyond glitter?

It was a pleasant calm conversation that talked to U.S. about their policies and plans. Maybe we should stop judging people on what they chose to wear before they opened their mouth. His content much more interesting than his collar. He is really calm, and I really like it. Great contrast to Poilievre; I like it a lot.
 
Because I enjoy his collar there. I find it colourful

EDIT: actually solemn I think is a mote accurate word here than serious. as the opposite of funny isn't serious but solemn

EDIT: and you really haven't been paying attention then to my ouvre. I have written all kinds of things. If you have payed attention. Sins of the 31st Century. The Downsides of being a Liberal. Giggles. Discordianism. Evil is Boring. Departed Stores. And so forth.

He’s a distinctly American tyrant (who admires strongmen). But their political and legal systems weren’t robust enough (unfortunately the superpower didn’t protect itself from this) to prevent someone like him from running because they were already corrupted by deciding that money=speech (corporate money, dark money) and - astonishingly in retrospect - there was nothing in their laws to prevent a felon from running for the highest office. If their hotshot lawyers can make such corruption possible, maybe there are some who can argue successfully that it be impossible in the future, and build in better safeguards into their election rules. But we have to get through the present, for now.

How can you invoke Groucho to criticize a liberal politician from a conservative standpoint??? The guy was Jewish, a Democrat and anti-fascist. When a private, conservative swimming club denied his daughter a membership because the family was Jewish, he famously pointed out the girl's mom wasn't Jewish so maybe she could wade into the pool up to her waist?

Groucho would not have been on your side.
