U.S. President Donald Trump has pushed back tariffs on Canada and Mexico for another month, saying they will now be implemented on April 2.

This delay comes two days after Trump said the 25 per cent tariffs would be moving ahead on March 4.

He made the statement as Trump held his first cabinet meeting Wednesday in Washington.

Trump did say April 2nd in the cabinet meeting but then Secretary Lutnick followed with the clarification that the Canada-Mexico border tariffs, for which the pause ends on March 4, won't be imposed if Trump is satisfied of measures taken to crack down on drugs and migration.

Trump interjected with "it's going to be hard to satisfy."

So nobody really knows at this point, even Trump.

He can simply play both sides and nobody can pin him down. Will the tariffs take effect? Will they not? They're Schrodinger's Tariffs. Or maybe there is no 4d chess at play and he doesn't have a plan at all, which seems more likely.

Similarly, WhyCzar is both Rita not Rita, Canadian and not Canadian. Except WhyCzar is obviously Canadian Rita, so the metaphor fails there.
