But abc didn't work last time. Everyone talked about strategic voting but the Cons got a majority.I'm not sure who I'll be voting for - NDP or strategically. I have considered myself NDP since Tommy Douglas. But right now I would do anything to get Harper out - ABC. If the local liberal, or green, has the best chance in my riding I will probably vote for her (or him). Presently one of Harpers sheep represents this riding.
What I would like to see in this campaign is for the three parties to recognize the common enemy and do everything they can to persuade voters to vote - and not for Conservatives. I would like to see them limiting the squabbling among themselves and be prepared to work together (not join together, but to cooperate) in order to provide good government for all of Canada.
My hopes: NDP - probably with a minority, with the Liberals in opposition. The Greens making a good showing. And the Cons going down in flames.
It will take a lot of work by all three parties to undo the damage that the Cons have done to this country in the last three terms.
Apparently you have to pass a vetting process to get into anywhere PM Harper is appearingI would so love to see that question come up in a debate or scrum @Inannawhimsey. It would likely tell us more about them than any question about actual policies. (And hey, that's a rather masculine list. Maybe some of the ladies get their undies at Victoria's Secret or La Senza
).
In fact, I may just go to a town hall or two just to ask it (and likely get thrown out).![]()

The campaign is now officially on and it will be the longest since 1872 (1867 and 1872 had staggered voting so were very long). 78 days of these guys (and 1 gal) spewing at each other? I may just extend my vacation in Europe until after October 19.
So, here's the election thread. What do you think? Who will win? Who do you want to win? Who do you want to lose? Is Trudeau ready? Is Harper an evil demagogue or a tough man making hard choices? Can Mulcair maintain the momentum Jack built? Will May get into any of the debates? Is the Bloc even worth mentioning anymore?
Keep it civil and pass me the popcorn (though a bottle of wine and some BC bud may be a better way to survive this).
Make no mistake @Jon71 the Conservatives (and to a large extent everyone else) have been actively campaigning for a long time already (like the entire term of this Parliament). But there are now specific rules around spending and activity that kick in for the next 78 days, also the next 78 days are when Elections Canada office will be open (though many of them will not yet be ready, some will not yet have found space to rent I suspect). More than doubling the length of the campaign (compared to the minimum) will also cost the Canadian government a phenomenal amount between rebates to the political parties and the extra costs of having those offices open longer.--and yet PM Harper has claimed he called it early to "Save Canadians money". Our next Presidential election is 15 months away and has been going full steam for a while now. On top of that I GUARANTEE you within a day or two of the results being official some will start speculating and maneuvering for 2020. Chances are there will be a little of that prior to the election. 78 days is nothing.

He just not ready

Huh? Who you asking?Which one? Or all three/four/five (depending on which parties you're counting)?
