Not going to engage you on one of your hot button topics. My comparison of why a Gay person would stay a Christian to why a battered spouse would stay with her husband stands, but to defend it further would take us down a road I have no intention of travelling.that's victim blaming...and not even one of the valid reasons it happens. Read up on why it happens. Also, read up on why LGBTQ people stay in conservative churches, or find someone to ask, and try on a bit more empathy.
Kimmio, that wasn't the point of him making the comment at all :3Seriously, @chansen ? That post needed to be pointed out. Ask Northwind about it. Women stay because of economic security, nowhere to go, fear of being beaten further (ever wonder why women's shelters exist), family ties, and a bunch of other reasons. Sometimes your posts are thoughtful, sometimes not...but I had to point that out, couldn't let it stand.
Carry on. But if others write stupid posts that you call them on, they should be able to point out yours.
Of course not -- courts and human laws had to be invented first for Murder to actually existMan was nor a murder from the beginning

Murder is a legal concept
But killing has always been a part of reality -- something ends, and from that something ending comes other effects (even more life)--remember the title of the OT -- 'Pain Will Come'? :3[/QUOT

It's not worth it. Take the point. I'm not going to ruin my night or yours over one post.maybe he should explain his point...he said he won't...but if you get it, why don't you try to explain it
Straw, I'm in Stereo!Nor before Cane and Abel
No no now it's dolby surroundStraw, I'm in Stereo!
That's true, that happens, but you shouldn't be shamed for that anyway, and that's not what chanson said, Bette. It's an excellent analogy, chansen, and worth a decent answer, because I think they're related. I stayed in a bad marriage for many years because I thought it was what was expected of me, that suffering somehow sanctified the relationship. There's this whole "suffering makes you more like Jesus" thread that runs through Christianity like an ugly misogynist black cord.
Cain couldn't have created the first murder because there were no HUMAN COURTS or HUMAN LAWS and LAWYERS or JUDGES or BAILIFFS around at the time...so it wasn't murder because murder is a Human Legal Concept :3Cain committed the first murder but God did not impute Sin on Cain and showed Cain Mercy and protected Him Why because there was no law against murder-----God actually warns Cain that if he doesn't control his anger sin is crouching at his door and wants to rule him -----Cain refused to listen to God and allows Satan to rule his mind by wrong reasoning Satan injected his attitude with envy --jealousy etc these emotions breed violence ----So Cain the man was not a murder from birth but allowed his emotions to control him which led him to murder
Cain and Abel
4 Then Adam had intercourse with his wife, and she became pregnant. She bore a son and said, “By theLord's help I have gotten a son.” So she named him Cain.[a]2 Later she gave birth to another son, Abel. Abel became a shepherd, but Cain was a farmer.3 After some time Cain brought some of his harvest and gave it as an offering to theLord.4 (A)Then Abel brought the first lamb born to one of his sheep, killed it, and gave the best parts of it as an offering. The Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering,5 but he rejected Cain and his offering. Cain became furious, and he scowled in anger.6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why that scowl on your face?7 If you had done the right thing, you would be smiling;[b]but because you have done evil, sin is crouching at your door. It wants to rule you, but you must overcome it.”

I'll stop now @chansen Definitely. I am sorry :3 -- there, I got rid of it through the magic of science :3Inanna, don't.
Sure, make it all because I have other issues going on that you can wiggle out of an ignorant comment and make me seem neurotic for pointing it out. Anytime I bring up something untoward that you say...you can just fall back on that. I'll put you on ignore. I really don't like engaging with you.Bette, some arguments, in some cases are best left unargued. Even the good ones.
This has the potential to blow up tonight, and I don't need or want that. I'd rather concede the point.
