They are hoping for an all out war as a backlash....
I refuse to paint everyone with the brush they want.
I will not give them what they want....
I hope they find them and punish them

Anachronism, satyr, metaphor, myth, imagination ... misunderstood things by people of great emotion ...

On the Old WC I posted a whole document on metaphors for satyr, axiom, etc ... few commented on the prophet in it ... or seeing much beyond a pile of chitty words going bung in the night ... is wisdom needed to make connections between the emotional and intellectual ports of the neural system? Perhaps why old folk forget why they're here ... outside forces don't wish contaminants in higher space that might be under foot (sole?) half the time ... a rotational cognizance or just a wildly screwed/scro-oged "Nous" as bolted down by heavy emotions? Such insane actions make my gentile head spin ... DOS deduction, or wild induced spirits of brutality?

Is education and experience of oppression both needed by the noble savage? Gives a ghostly sense of purpose to life (love is life?) unless you deny the dimension of psyche as Ephraim of fey genre .. allows hard mankind a soft spot on their head when born ... and then the imaginary activities continue as if .. a duality was afloat in something else again (is psyche something else to the passion plae) and people write about such painful experiences in if it were janeire-IHC ... or related to jinn's (genes) as unknown strings of spirits shared by physical deviants that try and piece it together and are bleu or blown after the drawing experience. It can emaciate one's emotions or inflate the other ... thus the need for a daze of rest ... this goes on eternally some suggest. Then how would a mortal beast know without beliefs in the phantoms ... some are hauntingly injurious .. and with infinite flight it is said it will come back at 'eM as if a populations of demons and angels to lay down a large decision in the outside courts ... is conscience a myth ... especially if you don't have one? Some say conscience eis part of the corporeal lost mined (although the spell can vary)! Could lead to fallibility and a return of the beast ... unspeakable right ... and then what's left? That'd be the weaker or Beta power .. second sight? Some call this an OBI and say it is just imaginary ... like thought in a strange domain of emotions!

Webster said intellect was beyond the wiles (except for wise coyotes, sometime be-witch'n Endores) enough to send chills up your spine at the lack of "emotion plus understanding" for the other. Shakespeare said it is a stage we pass through to learn about the dangers of emotional polity (extremism?) ... is that a far out explicit to those that wish to do as their will wishes them? Is God a proponent of good wiles? Good mother of God it is good chi has hymn contained in a river of fire ... the (Pi) (airy) pool of the brain as defined by proficient medical authorities as the largest gonad in the human body ... ID can be confined with a bit of decent information about action/reaction ... or is that reaction vs response able actions ... take time to think ... dig deep, it is a profound dimension that baffles the emotions as an upset to their world ... reciprocation or backlash from the other's IDe! It is an a' priori to understand along with the a' posteriori or the hynd NDs of the mean ass if you can put those points together in psyche as mire words ...

It is like James 4:8 and the giving up of Membrane Theory when the duo approach the naked other soul with some intelligence and confidence that it is the right time and place for IT in de Levite pyre ... when thoughts leave town for reworking ... in the deep subtle conscious? This is eternal to Hebrews and other Semites ... greatly put down by both Judi'n and Roman searching for extended powers ... Isle take the lesser and recede into the Rocks .. like Moses when carving out a tale about God ... a tablet that would be overturned in time ... when we see the Shadow of God's humor in teaching .. the only way to learn anything strange ...

Now what is it again they call me ... a vaporous thing right out of Jack Daniels ... sometimes it builds spirt sometime depresses a person enough to allow the Nous to catch 'eM .. then they're gone. Gives a whole altered meaning to allowing a person enough rope .. and they'll jump at their own accord ... and find it fetches up ... like responsibility dampens the urge to infinite freedom ... a lyre residing in the western demi sphere?

Cowards .... no .... not at all....
The problem is not cowardice and I shall not let them off so lightly nor allow that label to distract the focus from what they really are.
Religious extremists ..... that is what they are......
We have some here on our own continent of a different religious persuasion that I am very worried about following the same insane path in retaliation.

I posted the rules of War for Islam on the thread in Religion, partly to point out that most terrorists are not following Islamic rules of War, as set out by Mohammed, and true neither do many of our own armies follow "the rules of war". To me this isn't about religious extremism, it's about taking the law into their own hands and choosing NOT to obey Islam.

Basically they're defending a prophet they don't even follow.

Agreed Waterfall ..... agreed.....
Not the first time religion has been made the justification for doing something that is so very much against what the religion actually says.
Control ...... "in the name of god" ...... disgusting....
We have the seeds of it right here in North America ...... and it is not Islam that is being used and abused.

True Love or extreme passion ... a thing of avarice ... control f(reaks) that disallow balanced freedom? Does that reek of something smelling?

Didn't P Burton write something about PEWs in the temple? Something had to make the well wended straighten up ... fear of the other side ... knowing?

Cowards!..... using guns to fight words.
I'm not a fan of using the word "coward" to describe terrorists. I'm not even sure I like the word "terrorists". It's applied too often. It has lost its meaning.

They aren't cowards because it takes courage to stage any attack. Calling them cowards is just a way to try to insult them, but it doesn't fit. They are murderers. They are religious extremists.

The problem with posting a sanitized "Rules of War" from the Qu'ran is that there are also more violent scriptures as well. The Qu'ran and the Bible share the problem that you can use both to justify pretty much anything. The common one is the punishment of death by apostacy, which apologists will explain as something that only applies in an Islamic country, as if that somehow makes it better.

But this is Islaam Rita. They may be following a warped ideology butthey are not alone.

In the same way christians need to opposd crazy people like Westboroughh Baptist or the KKK as not being christian and denounce and work to abolish them, the ordinary Muslems around the world need to do the same.

This may be a perverted reading of the Qur'an but these three people are not alone.

They live in the west but then object to the west freedoms. Freedom of speech, freedom to be rude, freedom to be sarcastic......

No ones says you shouldnt be offended. I am sure lots of catholics are offended when the pope is satirized or americans offend by cartoons of Obama and on and on. But the difference is that guns are not used to express your displeasure.

All newspapers world wide should take a stand tomorrow. And all peace loving Muslems need to loudly denounce this tyoe of behaviour.

Otherwise we are seeing the end of free speech

Notice that, despite what happened, at the desire to suppress offending images of their prophet, other news outlets still aren't showing the images produced by Charlie Hebdo. Everyone is still too scared to offend, to worried about offending.

I mean, Charlie Hebdo, of which I only today became aware of, has also lampooned fundamentalist Jews and Christians. They were equal opportunity satirists. You'll see examples of their cartoons about the Pope, but not the ones that supposedly incited this attack.

We're doing what the murderers want us to do. We're scared of them.

From New Yorker magazine

Everyone is always so worried about who they are offending, and so quick to tell people how offended they are.

I don't think we should care if people are offended. I think we should care if people are wrong.

Exactly. Be as offended as you want. Its your right. But don't step on other people and their rights

I don't think its right to insult people for the sake of insulting them, but if there is a satirical point to be made then do so.

Sometimes i think the cartoons in our papers are distasteful. So what. I expect others find them, funny

I heard an otherwise intelligent sounding woman on the radio today. Her point was that if you offend Muhammed , well you asked for trouble.

Really?

The Globe, once again, appears to defy your generalization.

See the one about halfway down.

I think the one thing to keep in mind about a publication like Charlie Hebdo is that they AIM to offend. Extreme satire isn't just about getting people laughing, it's also about pissing them off. Most people who get pissed off, though, just vent on the Internet or write letters to the editor. It takes a special kind of person to turn their offense into violence.

My one concern about an act like this in a country like France is the real motivation. Were they just enacting revenge on the staff at Charlie Hebdo, or were they also trying to throw another wedge between Muslims and non-Muslims in a country that is already very polarized. I hope people recognize the need to differentiate between the Islamicists behind this and the mainstream Muslim community because a backlash against all Muslims may simply play into the attackers' hands.

Well that's encouraging on the Globe's part. If you look at many other outlets covering the tragedy, they crop their stock photos of the front pages of Charlie Hebdo. Not ones like this:

I don't buy that the attackers were trying to drive a wedge between Muslims and non-Muslims in France. There is no advantage if they do that. They will only get more repression and more bigotry thrown their way, and possible right-wing parties taking over, which means restrictions on immigration.

I'm more of the opinion that they really think they have the right to dictate what can be published, and they think publishing satirical cartoons of their prophet is punishable by death.

talk aboot a tough room -- usually its the comedienne who kills the room

that Charlie Hebdo cartoon certainly warms my cockles
