Satire is the long view -- sarcasm is the short view?Is satire the same as sarcasm?
What if we're wrong? What if it's not about satirical cartoons? What if the terrorists don't care about Mohammed being satired? What else could be on their agenda? Or whose agenda is it?
They found a drivers license in the car? Are the terrorists really that stupid....or smart? Didn't they magically find a terrorists passport from the buildings at 911 in the rubble too?
Oh and these are such well trained methodical killers, but whoops, they forgot to fill their gas tanks and had to rob a gas station and they had to steal a car?
aren't all Canadians essentially satirical hobbits?The problem with satire is that it appeals only to people who already agree with you. It rarely, if ever, changes minds or makes a situation clearer. With rare exceptions, it's the humour of louts.
I think satire has been partly responsible for the reduction in religiousity. Many powerful groups and people feel threatened by satire.
