Hold on, am I reading this right? @ChemGal is the sister of the wife of @chansen -- ?

:ROFLMAO:

No, though you could probably read this thread that way. Both babies were due to arrive around the same time but otherwise there was no relationship. If you go back a few (well probably quite a few) pages in the thread, they talked about it when chansen first announced his wife was pregnant.

Happy to hear of the safe new arrival .... interesting days (and nights!) lie ahead. Blessings to all of you.

Oh brother....I was trying to say something that wouldn't get me in trouble! Congratulations on all you ineptitude, but also all the wonderful, which includes a new family member.
Lol. No worries. Just having fun. Don't take me too seriously.

I read that Groucho Marx got bored with the conversation at a large dinner gathering, so he rose to his feet, shouted, "They have fired on Fort Sumter!", and left the room. If ever I am bored at a dinner in the US, I hope to use this line.

Gosh - where is everyone this morning? I have brought in a variety of hand pies for a treat - just zap quickly if you want a hot one. I put ingredient lists beside each type -because I know some people have foods they need to avoid. Yes, there are some gluten free ones in every flavour! There is cheese and onion, beef/tomato/veggie, herbed chicken/veggie, and just vegetables. These are so handy to keep in the freezer - I spend time on a cold or rainy day making them (it helps to have a co-operator) and have quick lunches available until they are all eaten. My hubby and grands love them for picnics, packed lunches and to just have for a snack.

Thanks for the treats. Wednesday is my volunteer day at the church. Plus I had to gather up 'stuff' to take down for the rummage sale - so I've been busy. Grandson and I went through the games and puzzles I've kept at the house since my Grandchildren were little. He picked out those 'kid' ones for me to take down. I put them in the minister's office for her to check and see if there are any she would like to have before putting the rest out for sale or give-away. Have any of you played Cooperative games with your kids. We had two - 'A Walk in the Woods' was a favourite of Grandson - it involves walking in the woods (around the board) filling everybody's baskets with fruit, nuts, and flowers while admiring the birds and butterflies and avoiding hazzards like biting insects, poison ivy, and no trespassing signs. He loved it, especially when we would follow up with a real walk in the woods trying to spot some of the things mentioned in the game.

Then yahn is an old word for the hand of God ... similar to jahn or John or a janus to be screwed over for their power assumptions as power corrupts ...

Is God really good ... or only the expired thinking deb elle ...

@Pinga - Hand pies are probably the most useful traditional baking done by women around the world.
They can be wrapped in pastry, bread dough, puff pastry or phyllo.
They can be sweet or savory.
They can be round, square, triangular, rectangular or cooked in muffin tins.
They are also known as pasties, pocket pies, empanadas and turnovers.

Did you have one?

After 17 hrs sleep yesterday, I am on steroids, well rested and not ready for sleep.
Last chemo was today -- woop! First brachy was yesterday woop, woop!. So, 5/5 chemotherapy, 21/25 external radiations and 1/4 brachytherapy.
Still tracking for last treatment to be done Nov 10th.

*** given that I am wide awake, will set up for breakfast tomorrow.
Coffee pot is good to go, it will sense your arrival in the room and start to perk.
Tea kettle is also ready.
Fresh fruit salad is waiting in the fridge, help yourself, along with some delightful granola and yogurt for you. Hope you enjoy.
Assorted baked goods including some delicious chocolate-zucchini loaf celebrating last day of chemo
