So do I. They're starting me slow with two projects to manage in Richmond Hill. Then it looks like I'll be taking on a bigger one in Ottawa, of all places, where I'll spend about a day or two every other week. I'll be getting to know Pearson almost as well as you do.

Lots of forest fires further North. I'm hoping for myself that the wind doesn't blow the smoke this way. Some rain would be beneficial. The fire bans are being taken seriously, our neighbours had a firepit just started and the fire dept. showed up. Dunno if someone called it in, or if they are just out patrolling looking for smoke.

I'll hardly be there long enough for a social call. Probably fly in and out same day most of the time.

"Trying to decide if sleep or email calls me."

Have you heard of "caul" that veil protecting the abstract, or unconscious side? Mortals don't like to hear it ... even from the dead serious, or the seriously out of it a' rising (E'ris-NG?) concern! Look at things archetypically ... better than proto-typically with Eire ... the hue-a'mon cause ... with gutte reason ...

Hah, you will likely get more travel miles for a lot less money.

I woke up at 3am (4am our time) with a splitting headache and nauseous. I had neglected to get a bottle of water to have in my room for "just-in-case", having drank the ones I got earlier.
So, there I was feeling like crap, dry heaving, and no water to help. Got a Tylenol down..and kept it down, and kinda dosed for an hour, then slowly got ready for work.

Took until about 10am to feel decent ....such are the joys of travelling & staying in hotel. Nothing like praying to the porcelain God in a washroom that you didn't clean.

oh boo pinga - that was a nasty start to your day. Is the tapwater unsafe to drink where you are? I've been cursing my new little computer tonight ... trying to configure something ... and not having good luck with it. Grrrrr .... but I did have a great day in my garden prior to that, so I will go to sleep with visions of that instead!

The city has had issues with the water system in the past, and I am not a fan of hotel systems, a bit of a mental block there. Actually, at home, I let the water settle in the fridge before drinking from tap due to taste of it right out of the tap, though I will drink it.

As a retired water treatment specialist (past, gone by) water was accepted as peculiar thing ... anciently considered a floater (medium) for haut thoughts ... too hot to handle?

The myth goes on .. even recesses into hard place, rocks etc. ... so they won't know what in them!

I must consider recession soon in the face of gods here ...

I've been drinking the city water for forty years. Never a problem (but is there anything I should know?:()

Once I took a down-on-her-luck neighbour shopping with me. I told her to grab a grocery cart and pick out what she would need to carry her over until her assistance cheque arrived, and that I could pay up to $20 for her. The first thing she stocked up on was bottled water (because 'who coould drink the city water?'). She also went well over $20 - but I paid it anyway.

Pinga - I have visited places where I couldn't/wouldn't drink the water.

Seeler,
Water is considered a universal solvent ... it contains all things ... trees and tres faere ... those good at absorbing light live on it in the dirt ... sacred things ... poorly understood in their vegetative state ... sort of like rational trees ... excellent flow charts! The Shadow of things past often recess there and are drawn up ... fluidized souls ... singularities in de solution? Hoo dah "ch' unque" it ... otherwise known as yh -unque ID ... as a metaphor for wodin chuck in ... and thus such profound things were chucked out by the unthinking ... reappeared as caul .. that cabbagelike leafing out of a head as aleif ... the beginning of the Semite alpha bit!

Allah, go find it ... phetch ... or phishing? Some phish irregularly ... and we call eM intrusively criminal ... supported by governmental dumbing down of everything ... but alas ... I' not allowed to say that because of Star Chamber Roué --- John Milton!

Paradise lost as the deuce ... the deterioration of the bicameral psyche and deviation from the divine golden rule as chimera to mono type ... one-trackers ... mona railed? That grown in the night ... or was that something growing ... po-eM I'z ole ...

I drink city water at home and in many places. I prefer it after sitting in the fridge as it tastes better. A lot depends on the amount of chemicals added.

Generally, I don't drink water straight from the tap. I usually filter it, mostly for taste. As a kid, I used to get sick when we were in other cities and that greatly improved when I stopped drinking tap water when traveling.
Every spring I find that there's a while where the tap water will actually cause my eyes to get irritated and burn in the shower and my skin problems get worse. It often starts before I can smell the additional chemicals so I doubt it's just psychological.

Pinga, glad to hear your sickness was only for a short period of time.

I grew up on well water and used to complain about the funny taste of Toronto water. I now use tap water without thinking about it.
I really think that tap water is safe and dislike paying someone-like coke-for bottled water -that came from city water-like Calgary's. Cheap water should be available for all.
That said -poor Pinga. Sometimes-if you have a microwave or kettle-tap water can become tea-and help with the GI upsets and taste.

I agree the tap water is generally safe. I think I just have a sensitivity to one or more of the things that can be found in various tap waters.

Thanks Tabitha, yes, I think part of my issue was being tired and not thinking straight. I could have thrown on pj's and gone downstairs, I could have called room service, and asked the guy to bring me up a couple of bottle water (lol, after pj's thrown on). i could have made tea...and likely the tea would have done it, i think part of it was caffeine withdrawal.

Had a really good dinner with friends. They are clever, the conversation just keeps rolling, the conversation is about life, past employers, work, professional interests, and person success. All is good. Good to laugh, good to have people who get it. They also were encouraging me to consider a different avenue from the one that I was picking, primarily due to the $$$ that I could choose and the abnility to manage my own work. I just am not sure....i get their point, but I have to do what s right for me...so going to listen to both sides and make decision. good news is that I have a few months before i make a decision

Glad you have perked up Pinga.
BC conference starts tomorrow. I have taken 2 days off work to attend. So work wise it was a very busy day. Now to pack, 6 1/2 hour drive tomorrow.

There's a new formulation of my medication, 10x more concentrated. I'm not sure I entirely see the point of this. It would only mean 1 vial to prep. The flow rate isn't specified on the monograph, it just says slow. I would assume it would take a similar amount of time as the original formulation. I do see much more potential for waste. There's some lost in transferring to the syringe, getting rid of air bubbles etc, plus there's no flush typically, so some always stays in the tubing connected to the needle.

I doubt I'll be prescribed this anytime soon anyway. It only comes in a higher dose than what I use - I use 2 vials currently and this is equivalent to 3. Plus no plans of having an appointment with my hematologist for about a year and no one else can set up the home therapy. I will see my hematologist at an info session in a few weeks though, maybe he will mention it.

Interested in thoughts on this especially those in the health field.

What I DO hope this means is faster approval for subcutaneous administration. It would have to be more concentrated compared to what I use for it to be administered easily. From what it sounds like those trials are going well. (y)

Feeling sad tonight ... got an e-mail from my brother who was diagnosed with prostate cancer 8 months ago & finished chemo in March, which was hoped to slow the progression (not cure the cancer), but this has not been the case - he's now categorized as "treatment resistant advanced aggressive metastatic cancer" - not the string of adjectives one would ever hope for. He's hoping to be accepted into a clinical trial in Vancouver ... will know in a few weeks. Had a follow-up chat with him ... tough times. At the moment he feels pretty well physically, aside from the devastating recent news of progression. Prayers welcome for his comfort.
