Asking the referendum question is not treason by any stretch of legal precedent.

Anyone that says it is is rage baiting.
Eby said that meeting with agents of another government to discuss their possible support before and after separation was treasonous (I don't actually think that language was all that helpful) not just asking the question. Though I recall similar language being used by some during the various uptick in separatist fervor in Quebec as well.
fAct is, because ALberta would be a totally non-viable independent state, particularly once oil takes it next big crash, the separatists math is highly flawed. As a separate nation Alberta would be in a financial disaster. APart from that the whole "Alberta has been so badly treated by Otawa" line is a complete and total whiny farce.

When she was Premier Rachel otley comented on how sometimes Alberta is seen as the spoiled whiny childe (forget her exact words) in Confederation. I would say one of, with Quebec being another. Conservative politicians here were outraged that she was impunging the image of this jewel of the country. IMO (and I waa raised in Alberta from the time I was 2 then spent 9 years in NWO before returning) Notley was right, and the spoiled whiny image has gotten stronger for the last 10 years, egged on by the UCP governments under both Kenney and SMith.

Then it looks like you get one vote.

In short, both signing the petition and voting in any resulting referendum are restricted to eligible Alberta electors (Canadian citizens, 18+, ordinary residents of Alberta). The petition requires proof of this when signing, while the referendum vote would use standard voter registration/verification processes.

Let the chips fall where they may.

Poilievre's Historic 87.4% sets a new high-water mark for CPC leadership endorsement in a mandatory review.

I have taken @chansen off of ignore - the moderators apparently have not.
Rita, you joined cruxifusion.com with a VPN that made you look like you were from Nevada. Eventually you gave that up and your IP resolved to near Steinbach, MB. You joined here as WhyCzar using a series of Canadian VPN solutions, making ut look like you were bouncing between coasts, then last I knew, you were resolving to MB again.

These are just facts.

cruxifusion.com
I searched for that website but was unable to access it.

Is this the crux of it?
What I want to create is something where you can have a thought and have a laugh, and no moderator with a rod up their backside is going to delete something just because it offended someone else. I don't care if you agree with me - that won't get you or your posts removed. I just want a more laid back approach that doesn't cater to the squeaky wheels.

So, if you're one of the people who follows this subreddit, drop by cruxifusion.com

and see if you think it's worth registering and maybe comment. Bonus points if you're clever. Even more bonus points if you tell me how offended you are.
If so, how does that justify your attempts at doxing posters in this forum?

Are you an administrator in this forum?

Are you authorized to stalk IP addresses of all the members here or just 'wannabe traitors'?

Moving on, why do you think the Alberta Independence movement is traitorous in the first place?

These are just facts.

Further down this rabbit hole these are fun facts about cruxifusion.com that they selected from a very lengthy document that was created after they typed "cruxifusion.com chansen" in the ask me anything line on ithy.com.

Unraveling the Digital Crossroads:

Cruxifusion.com, Chansen, and the Evolving Landscape of Faith

Chansen: The Unexpected Architect of a Faith Forum
One of the most intriguing aspects of cruxifusion.com's history is the involvement of an individual named Chansen. A prominent member of the WonderCafe2 forum, Chansen is openly atheist and anti-theist. Despite his non-theistic stance, he was the original creator and manager of the Cruxifusion board on cruxifusion.com. This unconventional pairing adds a layer of complexity and even irony to the narrative of Cruxifusion's online presence.
Pre-2026 (Original Creation)Chansen creates and manages the Cruxifusion board on cruxifusion.com.Establishes cruxifusion.com as the initial online discussion hub for Cruxifusion, driven by Chansen.
Ongoing DiscussionsCruxifusion is described as a Christ-centered movement within the UCC; debates arise regarding its theological stance.Contextualizes the content and discussions hosted on cruxifusion.com.
Discussions on WonderCafe2Chansen is actively involved in Cruxifusion-related discussions on WonderCafe2, including mentions of "Cruxifusion.com v2."Highlights Chansen's continued technical and conversational engagement with the movement's online presence.
Transition PeriodCruxifusion.ca emerges as the official website, intended to be more user-friendly.Marks the shift away from cruxifusion.com as the primary official platform.
Early 2026Cruxifusion.com is reported as inactive, down, or subject to redirection, with mentions of linking to Gretta Vosper's poetry.Confirms the current status of cruxifusion.com as a historical rather than active official site, and indicates potential future uses.
Present Day (2026-02-01)Cruxifusion.ca is the active and official website for the Cruxifusion movement.Solidifies cruxifusion.ca's role as the primary online destination for the organization.

Derailing their own thread was a bit of fun but ignoring detrackters makes more sense for their long run.

That's unsettled or unsettling? Under the 4 freedoms should we move on ... get out?

I've been told that because of questioning how those 4 work:
  1. Freedom of BS (belief systems)
  2. Freedom of press (heavy to carry)
  3. Freedom of speech
  4. Freedom of movement (OHS heights/maybe eits)
Above this quintessence ... where the outcast goes when Levite ... enlightened? Moors to ponder ... Bog Folks down ... there tannin and lignin will fix eM on the page ... transcending? Right out of life and flat out in the story! That's history ... generally dark because with all the alterations ... what really is there to believe? Change accelerates beyond our abilities ... to absorb ... unless swept away --- by Broom? (character in that myth)

Un believable eh? Raises them things ... questions ...

Well, there goes the neighbourhood.

*long sigh* “please don’t do that” … I don’t have to explain the reasons why I think that’s a bad idea, do I? The least of which is that it could ruin tourism.

Vancouver is one of several Canadian cities competing for the spot IF Canada is selected as the host country.

Toronto, Ottawa-Gatineau, and Montreal are also competing.

Vancouver's private-sector-led bid highlights the city's global connectivity, economic benefits (est 3,500 jobs), and strategic advantages.

As of now, the federal government has not chosen a preferred Canadian city, and the overall international process is still ongoing.
  • For interim/early operations (if Canada wins), bids mention using existing secure office spaces (e.g., Vancouver proposals highlight places like TELUS Garden or The Exchange for quick setup in mid-2026).
It's a financing institution still being set up, not a built structure like a traditional bank HQ.

Once operational, its "look" would likely be a modern corporate/financial office building (or complex) in the chosen city.

Do you think that's a bad idea for the whole of Canada or just Vancouver?

Some one once said that everything was for sale ... and thus the market is self-eliminating for itself! SOLD! Soli dad ... hard point ...

I was getting news updates popping up from my Globe and CBC apps last night. If it had come from the US, it would have been, "oh sheep, not again." But Canada? BC? My jaw hit the floor. And then waking up to the casualty toll was another shock.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the Tumbler Ridge events are resonating around the world. Besides our PM, our King and heir both sent messages of support and condolences (yes, I said "our" for once because they actually did something worthwhile for Canada here). And there have been messages from a number of leaders, mostly in Europe and the Commonwealth. Though interestingly, Volodymyr Zelensky from Ukraine sent a message of support. I mean, no knows shooting and mass death better than him given his country's situation but kind of surprised it got noticed in that neck of the woods.

Here's the CBC's live news on the shooting. There's supposed to be an RCMP presser at 11:30am Pacific (so 2:30pm Eastern). They apparently have identified the shooter (who killed themselves) but still have no motive. The description given in the original alert said the shooter was female, which is unusual for an event like this. Toll stands at 9 dead and 27 injured.

PM Carney has ordered flags on federal properties at half-mast and cancelled his trip to the Munich Security Conference.

On another site, in an unrelated discussion, someone mentioned Columbine which immediately had me going, "Is this our Columbine?"

presser just started...

SHooter is identified by name (the name that had already been circulating online), multiple weapons recovered
Total is 9 people deceased, not 10. THe one who was said to have died enroute to hospital is still alive.

This stands out for me but I know the right will be quick to zero in on the fact that the shooter was trans and had been the subject of multiple mental health calls. I suspect them being trans is irrelevant here save to the extent it impacted their mental health, but the mental health part is probably highly relevant. Were they getting proper support both physically and mentally? What stresses were they facing? Were they being bullied or otherwise targeted for being trans? A suicide note would help but apparently none has been found as of yet and the two other family members, a mother and step-brother, are among the victims so won't be saying anything. The police will have a tough row to hoe here in terms of putting all the pieces together, if they even can.

I was worried this day would come.

My daughter knew a trans girl in high school who was subject to bullying and it seemed to affect her pretty deeply.

There are a number of victims already. I feel This could have further repercussions and create more victims down the road as trans people are blamed.
