Welcome back Kay! I missed you.

So I think I'm feeling the benefits of the antibiotics. My legs feel a little less weak, and I'm coughing less. My heart rate is going down. Something shifted in my earr so it's blocked. I'm taking it as a sign that my ears have been part of this and this is part of the healing, even if it is annoying.

Good Saturday morning! Hope everyone is well. A son coming home, computer woes resolved, and a (hopefully brief) learning curve on how the machine works, (Welcome back, Kay!) for the positive effects of antibiotics, for whatever may rise up today, we are at the Coffee Cart to tell about it and hear about it. We chat, support, and connect over tea and coffee, and baked goodies. Today the Wonderbakery has created cream puffs for us. The tea water is boiling, coffee is fresh brewed, and cream puffs are at the perfect temperature. All is ready! Come and get it! Come join in the chat and enjoy the company!

Good morning! Nice to see @KayTheCurler back and @Northwind seemingly on the mend.

It's funny, I swear the tree outside my home office window is busier now than in the summer. There were birds coming and going all day yesterday and there's a big, fluffy grey squirrel in it now. Realistically, it's probably more that I see the feathery and furry visitors better now that the leaves are all down. Yard needs a pass with the rake but it is still partly snow-covered and there's showers in the forecast most of the weekend so probably not happening this weekend.

Feeling old…in Sudbury with kids and grands…They are swimming, going to Science North, and then an indoor playground. We,the grandparents, are at the house without feet up!

Science North was always a part of our plans with the kids. We would camp at Grundy and head in to town on a rainy day. Such an awesome centre.

To be honest, I have never been up there. Not even after my employer got an operation going up there (we have offices in Sudbury, North Bay, and Espanola). Kind of the downside of being management. I have staff doing the road trips now, whereas even 15 years ago, I was still doing some of them myself. We weren't as widespread back then, though. No presence North of Muskoka or East of Toronto for a long time.

In my opinion, Science North was better than the science centre.

The trading shop was a highlight.

Loved the loch/dam chutes on the stairwell as well.

So many memories flit in

Good morning! Sunday is here. It is windy here today, Still relatively mild temperatures. The stuff that goes on in trees, that the leaves tend to obscure, Science North with the grandkids, and memories about past trips there, plus whatever else arises today in our minds, all of it meets us as we gather round the Coffee Cart for tea and coffee, as well as conversation, support, and connection. This morning the bakery has produced doughnuts of various kinds to enjoy. The doughnuts are fresh and warm from the oven, tea water is boiling, and coffee is freshbrewed. Everything is ready, everyone is welcome. Come in, join the conversations, enjoy the company!

Science North ... in Fredericton there used to be Science East that was the old jail ... where the last public hanging occurred in NB according to history ... there may be other suspended myths!

Grandson visited was not distraught about the hanging but disturbed by the cells where a serial killer was confined ... Legere? Maybe a sense of the escape from life? Life is Raugh for a large portion of the court sometimes details as san Hed Roon ... Roonies? Special home for the final judges ... Mac A Roonies allowing for a story on an African Vessel ... Grift?

I'm feeling the benefits of the antibiotics and extra rest. My stomach isn't. So fond of the drug, but I'll manage. My right ear has been blocked for the last couple days. As a result, I'm feeling a little off-balance. Hopefully that will resolve soon.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Sl glad it is resolved @KayTheCurler

Sounds like some slow healing going on. Hope you are soon feeling good all over.
Let's eat doughnuts while we wait. I'm partial to the ones with chocolate icing.

Whelp, at the coaches meeting yesterday, I learned that I am a floater coach this season, which sucks. I like having my own team. It takes me 6 days just to learn names. I like having a close knit group.

The other bit of bad news is my daughter's boss, head coach of ski cross, had a medical setback and hasn't been heard from in months. This dovetails into my situation. They are looking to me to coach ski cross if the head coach can't go.

The consensus is that I know more about ski cross than any other experienced coach there. It's such a niche sport that there aren't any unemployed coaches waiting for a phone call. I get the impression I wasn't given a race team partly because I'm being held back for this purpose.

All I know is what my daughter tells me and I've helped out setting a course once. And I rolled up some netting. That's it.

So this winter, if the head coach can't perform, I'm acting head coach for a sport I've raced once, 20-ish years ago. And my 18-year-old daughter, who knows more about it than I do, is my assistant coach. And my son is a first year athlete.

And if I don't do it, they could fold the team, my son is out of the only sport he's shown interest in, and my daughter is out of a part time job.

No pressure.

Starting my crash course in ski cross coaching and rules tonight.
