I pictured a kettle in a big pot of water. When you write, "The kettle is boiled," my mind imagines a kettle melted down in a crucible.
I'm not entirely sure what is wrong with me.

Lol. A song came to mind. Bitchin’ Camaro by Dead Milkmen. It’s an immature and politically incorrect punk song burrowed into my head from my youth - comes up every time a Camaro has been mentioned ever since. You probably won’t like it. But know that “Bitchin’ Camaro!” is a compliment in old school skater language (depending on who’s driving maybe backhanded like making fun of a muscle car driving rich kid…all in jest.) it’s a compliment from me. Like “awesome ride!” (just watched a live performance since it popped into my head and the band looked old 7 years ago lol which means I’m old too. Some of us never grow up. They’ve replaced some of their shtick with F Trump).I mean, I'm living the life

Anyway…fun rides! Convertible? Was it raining?
It depends on the mobility aid you choose (or have available). As someone who uses a mobility scooter all the time, it is fun! That’s a bonus…until you get to a corner without a curb cut or to an old building you can’t get into. When I was in VGH after my surgery - it was “fun” (relatively) when they gave me a manual wheelchair (not a transport chair that has small wheels that requires someone else to push. No fun. I want to pop my own wheeliesThe nurse that watched over me after the biopsy is an angel. You have to hang around for two hours. She scored me something to eat and then scored me wheels that we could use to get home. It was a true gift. The wheels were on a wheelchair. I'm not sure I would have made it the mere few blocks walking. And, the ride was fun. For this occasion. I can say that because it was a temporary mobility aid.
*stealing not steeling lolIt depends on the mobility aid you choose (or have available). As someone who uses a mobility scooter all the time, it is fun! When I was in VGH after my surgery - it was “fun” (relatively) when they gave me a manual wheelchair (not a transport chair that has small wheels that requires someone else to push. No fun. I want to pop my own wheelies) I got to get out of bed and have some freedom to explore where I was. I wanted to go outside down that ramp in the nice lobby but I didn’t think I was strong enough to hold onto the wheels (those are the handbrakes) to go down and then try to roll myself back up again. There was a side entrance by the cafe though. Once, I thought of escaping from the next hospital (it felt like a gloomy old recovery ward I had to be at for a couple of weeks, not as nice digs as VGH). It was just a funny thought but it did occur to me that I’d probably get arrested for steeling the wheelchair, and that wouldn’t be the best idea. I was just restless with all the clinical business - needing some independence. My roommate and disabled friend who also uses portable crutches brought my scooter to the hospital for me so I was able to go outside and ride around the campus village, go to Starbucks, etc. I perplexed the staff - don’t think they’d seen that before. I guess not a lot of ‘already disabled pre-accident’ people are in there and there were seniors shuffling around with two wheel walkers who’d been there for months with nowhere to go. It’s so sad I could feel it physically and mentally and I had to get out for a bit when I could. On the day I left another patient, an elderly woman, was riding a scooter down the hall. I may have started a mobility aid trend. I hope so!
That turned out to be a personal essay. Sorry. I’m glad you got well looked after.
First floor of Jim Pattison Bldg looks more like a new hotel lobby than a hospital, hey Northwind?
As I understand it, fats are another whole category. Protein, carbs, fats, etc. are different types of nutrition. You can get proteins without a lot of fat if you go for things like legumes or trim your meat diligently. That said, some fats are healthy and even necessary, e.g. omega 3 (found in fish, for instance). In the end, you probably end up back at eating some form of balanced diet.I recall some acquaintances declaring they were on high protein diets that allowed a lot of fatty meats ... is fat not a carbohydrate in some perspectives
More importantly from health impact, it encouraged high fat, which was its downfall.Who remembers the Atkins diet? It was high protein and low carb.

I suspect VGH isn't as confusing as it seemed yesterday. Or it may be.
When you walk along 10th, there are old buildings, including the school of medicine that have been closed up. When you walk along 12th, you see the back of these old buildings. There's probably an old nurses residence, nursing school etc there too. It's quite the place, that clearly has been added to over the years.
I think for me, distance was more the issue yesterday than confusing. That being said, it was probably confusing for my husband. He ended up on an inpatient unit trying to find me after the procedure.
