90% of my coffee consumption is from a knockoff Yeti travel tumbler I got free when I spent three grand on Milwaukee tools. It's probably saved me more money than the tools have, lol. The "Milwaukee" logo is completely worn off. The lid broke but I found replacements on Amazon. I got a real Yeti from somewhere (I think it was a corporate gift to my wife but it's not something she would use), but I use the knockoff for work and even around the house, thinking I'll dent it or lose it. So of course, it remains functionally almost perfect. I've left it overnight on jobsites, misplaced it, dropped it, etc. It has one tiny dent and I keep finding it. I left it on some random jobsite in downtown Toronto one day, thought I'd never return and it wasn't worth the drive to look for it, but I was called to go back a week later and there it was.

The moment I take the Yeti to work, I'd wager, I'll drive over it with my truck.

My go-to ceramic mug was left on our doorstep and came from the local Presbyterian church when we moved in 14 years ago, with a packet of coffee, inviting us 'round. We didn't go. I wanted to stop by to ask where they got the coffee from, because it was damn good coffee. My wife wouldn't let me.

Oh the protocol of vocation ... it is prodigal ... no?

In NB they are having problems with masses of composted matter ... potentially quantum material by chance!

We shall only know from looking onto it from out there ... a difficult to imagine point! These burn holes in the dark and mysterious expanse! SKYE ...

I have a Yeti at work, a gift from the company for some event or other. Has my initial (which doesn't really help differentiate it since we have multiple people with my first name, let alone my first initial) and the company logo on it. Like it for the size. Holds a lot more tea than any of the mugs in the office kitchen.

I was using a mug that said "knitting is kind of my thing". It's a great mug, though a bit big these days, since I'm drinking a little less coffee. We have friends in the park with a cricut. They made us mugs with buffalo plaid that says "full time and loving it", meaning FT RV dwellers. It's a good mug. I have a couple tea mugs. One was my grandmother's. It's a china Royal Albert mug. Tea tastes in china, and in a mug. Best of both worlds

I have a travel mug we got as swag at a weekend gathering for our brand of fifth wheel. It's great. It keeps coffee hot and holds quite a bit.

I have two mugs that i use for tea. Both were gifts. One is Hillborn pottery, a potter near my old house. The other is a beautifully carved mug of a blue Heron.

For coffee, I just use a mug from our every day dishes: pfaltzgraff nature Wood pattern

Here is what I wrote re my mug:

When i formed my company, i struggled to find a name that felt right.
I eventually chose a name containing Blue Heron.

I've always loved watching a Blue Heron. They will stand still for periods of time, then strike quickly. They spend most of their time alone when fishing.
A number of years ago, a friend and i worked on the Five Oaks working committee. We worked many a long hour struggling over ideas, delivering work product and meeting goals. We had long been friends , running fun projects in church circles.

When there was an opportunity to have a Business Analyst work with me, she was a natural selection.
Since then, it has been a run. I am so lucky we are a team. Her gifts from years of herding cats in church work, and navigating confidentiality are regularly put to the test. She has become an expert in her own right in the work of privileged access delivery.
Last evening , she surprised me with a perfect and unexpected gift.
A beautiful piece of functional art by Teresa Wyss Pottery perfect for this coffee drinker.
Teresa describes it as "The blue heron symbolizes self-reliance, self-determination, and progress within oneself. The perfect mug-buddy for a strong, independent coffee drinker. Or anyone who thinks blue herons are pretty!"
Lol, well, I love it
It isn't heavy. The portion your lip touches is fine and smooth. The texture is interesting and the colours are stunning.
Cindo is a talented potter and i am thankful to have her wisdom also used to find me a perfect gift.

Nice mug. You already have your tree up?!

Took part in an indigenous burial yesterday ... very meaningful about vapor and essence of what was ... it goes on ...

Hard to pass up!

Good morning! Happy midweek! Yes, it does make a difference what cup or much we use for yea or coffee; maybe a memory of a trip or occasion, a gift from someone, or just one we like. I have a number of mugs that mean a lot to me. For the picture of JayneWonder's mug, to descriptions of others, the mug/cup we use matters. Maybe sometime we can have a picture show of our favourites.
Anyway, the tea water is boiling, and coffee is freshbrewed. Today we have doughnut holes to enjoy with our tea and coffee, courtesy of our baker. All is ready, all are welcome. Let us together raise our cups/mugs in a salute to the day, and to the people here! Come in and join the fun!

Today is my 3rd dental appointment for fillings. My teeth really suffered the last few years..my neglect. Paying for it now, in multiple ways.

But...it's Wednesday so we will be spending time with granddaughters at the hockey rink too. Yay!

I’m glad you have joy to counter the tension of going to the dentist. I cancelled a dentist appointment a couple of weeks ago….it was for a filling I didn’t think I needed. The dentist did not initially find a problem but suggested a filling when I mentioned a sensitivity. The sensitivity is gone so I didn’t feel like spending the money on something I probably didn’t need. I go to the dentist twice a year.

My dentist had retired, found another dentist that was good. Things were great. Then, they retired.

The next dentist recommended to me i found I did not trust. Excess work. Not positive things were needed.

I have started with a new dentist who is over-the-top with attention to detail. I was surprised that he wouldn't originally do fillings as my blood pressure was too high. That's resolved. He also was pretty insistent that i get a couple of things checked by a dermatologist. It turned out to be benign. He's close to me, so all in all a decent solution.

I have a tooth i broke, that I should have had a crown put on. During that time i didn't and now the tooth needs pulling. I'm on blood thinners due to my heart incident, so waiting to see if the other dentists who do extractions will do it .or i wait until i get off blood thinners. Fingers crossed

I'm worried that ours won't be around much longer. He's fairly senior among dentists in the area, has even done inspections and other work for the college and taught clinical at Western. The practice is now in his partner's name and he's not around much.
The next dentist recommended to me i found I did not trust. Excess work. Not positive things were needed.
That was our last dentist. He took over the practice from a guy we really liked but seemed to be fishing for more work. Did a good job for the most part, just seemed to always find something that seemed expensive and non-consequential to us.

Good morning! Cool but otherwise nice in these here parts. Still doing my exercise walks but that will end soon, at least for after work. I'm barely making it in before dark now. Weekends and days when I work from home, I can go on a bit longer, probably until the time change.

Our family dentist while I was a kid was terrible. Just a boring, dull dentist. The sort whose magazine selection in the waiting room consisted of old BMW and golf magazines from his own home subscription, plus a Chatelain office subscription for the ladies. If you didn't like golf or German cars, you had nothing in common with him. He never really laughed or smiled. I hated going.

But the hygienists and office staff were great. As I got older, the game became how to make them laugh, often at the dentist's expense, because he was obviously a real pill to work for. I learned that you do this *after* he was finished prodding your mouth with drills and pointy metal things. But it made going to the dentist more fun. Everyone in that office liked me, except Dr. Polos.

Our dentist now is great. We met her when we moved into the area. She's a neighbour. She's not exactly a cutup either, but my joking around is more general and not at the expense of anyone other than my son. There is something about going to the dentist or doctor that I find inspiring.
