Well, Claire accepted Waterloo's offer, after they sweetened the deal with a small entrance scholarship. She sorta lost the residence lottery, ending up in United College, which I understand used to be St. Paul's College and affiliated with the United Church.Claire is still waiting on a decision from Mac Life Sciences. She's in at Waterloo Psych, which is where she is probably going anyway, but as I've said before, Mac Life Sci, which is their official gateway through the sciences to psychology, is a backdoor to med school (health sci is the front door), so it's crazy competitive.
Good morning! Happy Thursday, the day named for the god of thunder, so feel free to make some noise. Today is also Juneteenth, so let us remember those through the ages who have suffered slavery.
Best wishes to Claire, for her continuing education!
For memories of furniture, useful for storage, or for unintentional hiding places for small children, for other memories and thoughts that occur today, the Coffee Cart is open and ready to listen. Let us chat, connect, mutually support each other, and drink tea and coffee together. This morning we have cinnamon buns fresh from the bakery. The tea water is ready, coffee is freshbrewed, buns are still warm. All is ready, all are welcome. Come inand join the conversations!

Thankful to read that the three year old was found safe, @Redbaron
That was such a sad scenario with a mother leaving her daughter at the side of the road and her mother telling her to stay there and wait for her .....which she did for 3 days. Amazing that she listened.....can you imagine, 3 years old and no food, sleeping on the side of the road, no bathroom.,....I just want to hug her, but hopefully her Dad will give her lots.Thankful to read that the three year old was found safe, @Redbaron
I guess not or maybe didn't stop?Did no one else see her during those three days?
I have connections to that place. Hadn't realized it was no longer UCCan. First off, my grandfather helped found it when he was president of Hamilton Conference. Then when I took a couple courses there in 1987-88, one of my profs was the principal of the college and had reported to Grandad early in his career (Grandad had been in charge of UCCan colleges in the last decade or so of his ministry but was retired by the time I started university). We also knew each other from some church work (he had been presbytery rep on a search committee at my church). Kind of weird taking courses from someone I knew outside the academic environment.Well, Claire accepted Waterloo's offer, after they sweetened the deal with a small entrance scholarship. Sorry to hear this, hope you stay and find what caused the disruption in the first place. In other news, my life has been a bit chaotic.
On Sunday night / Monday morning, I was awoken by pain in my chest. It was crazy. I wondered about going to hospital but didn't want to wake family.
I ended up taking aspirin, fell asleep after a few hours, and felt better though sore.
Monday, I went about normal items. Was exhausted fell asleep at 8:30
Tuesday woke up and again though fatigued felt ok
Tuesday I came home around 1pm, had a shower and started with a wicked chest pain again that navigated up my neck
After an hour i contacted my paramedic son, who said call 911.
I got stuff Together, told my husband and called 911. In the meantime he had called my youngest son to make sure I phoned.
When ambulance arrived, my heart rate was crazy. No sign of heart attack.
My heart rate stayed above 160 .
Was in acute ER and after monitoring tests, decision was made for care. I was given meds to stop my heart , kinda like a computer restart.
I've been in hospital since. Echo shows good heart health
I am doing fine
