Good morning! Happy Easter! For those who, for health reasons and other reasons can't make it to the services, those planning family gatherings and meals, for those going to Sunrise services, those getting ready to change locations, those dealing with taxes, and all the things that will arise today, we are here at the Coffee Cart, ready to listen, tell stories, support, and care, over coffee, tea, and doughnuts. (Special Easter theme doughnuts from a well known franchise.)
The coffee is fresh perked, the tea water ready, doughnuts are still slightly warm. All is ready, all are welcome! Come join the conversations!

Good morning and Happy Easter!
I had to finish my book last night and read until 1 am- so starting the day later than normal. ( Louise Penny- why did she write so many good books?). Today is 13 degrees and we had some rain overnight, perfect for getting the veggie beds cleaned up. Easter supper later at friends house.

And the how's of the rising sun persists ... like why did it rise ... stubborn? A mule among us? Perhaps ... but them maybe just something of the great unknown ... which there will be always something or some one that will claim otherwise ... as moghwy That's a very ancient Gael word ... like a storm in the night as it all happens ... it is the nature of things to create curiosity! Enigmatically while you are right in it ...

Is there a flash on escape?

Christ is Risen!

and in my ongoing saga-the sump pump is working quite well as the flow into the well is currently strong and the rate fast enough to keep pump going. Other news-with the increased water due to snow melt-water is seeping in in some corners, as it does most springs. So damp floors but no standing water.
Yes plan is to cement well except for the top 2 feet and run pc piping up to joist then ove to corner and outside-but they want the well relatively dry so concrete will stick well. Give it another 7 days I thinl. The snow is almost gone.

@ Nancy Wishing you uncomplicated healing. Dont lift anything for awhile. Gall bladder attacks are more painful than child birth.

Which one @Mrs.Anteater ? I'm a Louise penny fan too.

A dear late friend grew up in Louise P's neighborhood and thus we did several of her novels in Book Club .. with much interpretation as the late friend was a lawyer (even worked for UCC). Wish she was still here to assist in the present crisis ... everybody dislike everything and so it goes ... everything departs ...

I'm going through the Gamache books in order. #6 just became available on my holds so I will be reading it as soon as I'm done the other library ebook I have on the go.

I don't know what i was thinking yesterday when i bought 3 flats of pansies.

Definitely going to have lots of pansies. Window boxes are full. Other boxes are now full

Going to fill 4 hanging baskets next that normally don't get used until the summer

Invasion of the Pansies it sounds like. I have to fix one of our deck boxes before Mrs. M can even think of getting flowers for them. She usually waits until Victoria Day anyhow.

I love pansies, and the survive snow and light frost. They'll be replaced by garden herbs in May

Obviously our centuries-long plan is still working

Us pansies are everywhere and are a great addition to any land, plot or narrative

And once planted, we spread

Pain's Ease. Let us brighten your life

And in exciting news, my removal of backyard tree limb was just-in-time. They chipped my boulevard stuff today.
I ended up with a neat little pile of firewood that will be handy next year.

Not all from your property, of course. Some came from your neighbours. I'll drive that pile north, split as necessary, re-pile and it will come in handy when I'm tuning skis next winter. We only have a wood stove in the workshop out back.

No coffee for me, today, then :(

Our family meal is tomorrow. Been making it simpler in the last year, with more make ahead or ordering in.

Tomorrow will be leftover ham from tonight's ham, potato salad (made) , devilled eggs (ready to assemble), along with salads and veggies ready to be plated.

Less time cooking.

More time visiting.

Oh and Easter bunny was here already

I started with the one I could get at the library - Kingdom of the blind, then read the next one after that ( a better man), but ordered the very first one - which should come to my library any time now, and the one after the “Better man”. Whichever I get first. My sis in Germany told me about her first- and that she learned about the residential schools in Canada from one of them ( I haven’t read that one yet). I used to read through the nights when I was in my teens and twenties- now I find the lack of sleep is affecting my day negatively. ( I also used to knit through the night to finish a sweater- don’t do that anymore).

I asked someone today what their Easter Bunny brings and was surprised by some of the answer

What did your Easter Bunny bring?

Had a blast today being Kaslo's unofficial Trannie Easter Bunny Minion

It rained on and off
Was blustery on and off
I lost my phone once
Retraced me steps and found oot someone had found it and placed it off the road for me to see. Man this place rocks!

I made a bunch of whimsikal and inspirational phrases on bits of paper and put them in plastik eggs

My idea bearing hips were in high gear today

I secreted them wherever moved me. No real planning

Then to the Kaslo church and their lovely cabin living room worship area and various sitting arrangements

I brought a pack of Jesus Buns

Loved seeing the people

The sermon I caught the last bit of, on Gen Z and their despair and purposelessness

I am glad different people still feel comfortable with calling me what they feel ok with

So when that was over off to St. Mark's the Anglican I mostly go to

21 epic people came. Crowded lol
The organist, P, dropped off some plastic eggs in a basket with ribbons and treats inside

I had plans for them mua ha ha *cough*

I changed over to.my Easter dress that I was almost afraid to move in...all white eep. I MUST get married now lol

Afters was nice as usual. Nicer because of more people

Got some pics and a selfie with two other people who were also wearing jean jackets...jean jackets can look nice with dresses

Someone brought their cocoanut bunny cake. She gave her life for us. She was very nummy.

After I rode around to find places for the remaining eggs. Hung some on some nature trees. Got confirmation from other Kaslovians of being visited by Easter Jesus

Overall was a good day

Kaslo rocks
