I'm making an assortment of food, and family can drop in any time after 4:00 to eat, drink and visit. My son, his wife and two little ones (including the 3 month old) will be here, so that will make it seem extra special. But we will ALL go to bed before midnight.

We'll have a quiet evening. There's a group campfire planned at the park but by that time we'll be cozy inside. Who knows. We're usually good at calling it midnight Ontario or Manitoba time.

No CBC New Year's Eve Special. This warrants letters to JT and the Heritage minister. Our daughter in Verdun has company from Cuba and North Carolina so we will not see them. No one else in the area. Might do a Zoom thing before our daughter in Calgary starts her shift for Westjet.

There's always Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, eh. Still going strong even with Dick long in his grave (Ryan Seacrest has been hosting for a while now).

Last year, we just looked for YouTube videos of the fireworks/drone shows in various countries then watched the annual Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert on New Year's Day once it was out on YouTube (probably wasn't supposed to be, but it was so we watched it :giggle:).

I usually pass out from natural endocrines long before the bewitching hour when the God-Lady takes over the darkness ... fete noire?

One can also check oot the New Year's Eve specials from around the world if one has internet fast enuf :3

Sample the global village

Mulled wine and chinese food with my bro
Maybe a dip in the lake!
And a special film to send to someone
(I did a short for Christmas and I didn't -- as usual -- know how it would turn oot. It looked fun)

How 'boot you m'dear?

Hi all, long time no see. Hope your February is going well. ❤️
yup
moved to a teeny mountain and lakeside hamlet full of my kind of freaks

(nicely more open to fly whatever their freak flag is than where i lived...)

there is no division between the Wild and the Human here. our hamlet is their hamlet and so forth

hope you are doing well hon

Yeah, it's been a rather weird February so far. That said, I'm not missing shovelling or driving through squalls. Supposed to be more February-like in the coming week, at least down where I am. Temps around 0 and flurries.

February is the fifth anniversary of my cancer diagnosis. Here's to five more years.

Bette Midler Thank You GIF by American Film Institute

This month has involved a little medical involvement than I like. That is part of my life now. So new meds have been started with no surprises so far. New routine will be manageable.
