Just looked it up. I guess some of the songs were released on YouTube 5-6 months ago, pre album sale. If I’ve already heard of it and heard some of it then it doesn’t seem like it’s a new release - but the YouTube releases were promo/ pre-album-release. It’s doing well because she’s iconic but it’s not very good, really. I admire her for doing it but I won’t be getting into it. Main thing is I’m not losing my mind. I did hear some of it already.

Yeah, she's been releasing songs from it for quite a while now. That seems to be becoming the norm anymore. Floor Jansen pre-released six out of the ten tracks from her first solo album with the first few coming out before she even had a title and date for the album. Of course, she was doing her first solo effort after 25 years in bands and was switching from metal to power pop so maybe she had to self-promote more than someone releasing their umpteenth solo album in the same genre.

As for Dolly's rock album, I like some of it. Her performance with Rob Halford of Judas Priest is pretty good, for instance (he's all over the place these days). And I quite like the idea of the album. The fact that Dolly is still trying out new stuff in her late seventies gives all of us hope, I think.

This song might be an acquired taste. He switches flow patterns often. I think it’s awesome - can envision it being part of a musical stage play. The language at the beginning is Welsh. I learned what was said a month ago but I’ve already forgotten. Maybe @BetteTheRed
knows?

Just heard a live version of Leonard Cohen singing "you want it darker" on Odario Williams. Really cool.

I has a shadowy nature doesn't it? One has to probe there with a bit of awareness that is presently fuzzy .. Locki? Some say Lochi ... deep pyres ...

I realized that i haven't shared any of the podcasts that i listen to.

Here are a few samples.

Not listening to it yet since it hasn't been release, but this teaser dropped a few days ago and I am pumped. Billy Joel is releasing a new song for the first time in decades. The man is one of the best singer-songwriters of my lifetime and even his "bad" stuff is better than some songwriters' best.

As for something that is out, how about some bluesy rock from a pair of Dutch musicians best known for metal? Arjen Lucassen is the brains behind numerous "super group" projects as well as an accomplished guitarist and songwriter. Robert Soeterboek is a Dutch rock singer, often compared to David Coverdale, who has worked with Arjen on many of those projects. Here, they team with some other Lucassen regulars for a song they discovered on a demo they did 30 years ago. Great blues number coming from a group that, on paper, is really more suited to metal.

Last year marked 50 years since the now-late Norman Jewison's classic film version of Jesus Christ Superstar came out. Last summer, star Ted Neeley revisited one of the musical's pivotal numbers. Interesting seeing the older Neeley of today with his younger self in the background.

And from the movie itself, Yvonne Elliman as Mary Magdalene with one of the show's most popular songs. Elliman was quite familiar with the song by this point, having played the role on the original 1970 concept album and on Broadway in 1971.

Man, so many good songs
I think this was my gateway musical. I first saw it on our teeny colour tv. Roman soldiers with shiney silver helmets, tanks and jets and Jesus!
Good times
Christianity can be this fun :3
