The snow yesterday had turned to slush by the evening. I was expecting it all to freeze overnight. But the temperature rose and the slush was gone by morning.

Rain was predicted for today but it seems to be getting colder and we have had a few snow flurries already.
 
Why are folk so distraught about alien things ... also the Stranger of Galilee!

JW .. if the unknown is so uncomfortable I would move that you ban me from WC2 ... that should suit you better!

As you just showed, you can speak in English that can be read by others. I ask that you do so. Your posts are just disruptive. I had you on ignore for a long time, but, that meant that I did not get notifications on new posts. It also meant that I did not see what the "guest" readers see. Threads full of gobblygook.
As someone who desires everyone to be able to read these threads, I ask that you post in standard English.

The wind cuts through you. We lost a big hickory over night. It is "hung up" on other trees and in an area where the kids walk so will be an effort to take it down when weather clears.

You despise alien linguistics of old ... the great source? Yet, I too was told to tell the children nothing of peculiar meaning ... I have renedered a request ot remove, deny and eliminate me from this community! There ... as you wished ... nothing NU to be presented ...
 
Funny thing with trees. Sometimes one will come down that didn't have any obvious problems. Other times an oak tree will hang on for years with a rotten core and just a bit of bark holding it together.

We have a very large tree next to our house. It leans away, down a hill, so we have not addressed it.
The core is hollow. There are gaping holes into it.
It is massive (for a southern ontario tree)
Yet, the crown is full of leaves in the summer.
It gives life and a place for many creatures to live.

Every year we discuss, is this the year it comes down, but, it shows us how much it has to give still.


Now, the ash trees...we need to watch. Emerald ash borer is wicked.
The trees become a danger, as they will snap midway up the tree. it can just be your leaning on it that will cause it to snap, but, the damage may not be obvious.
We have learned to identify the signs, like a expansion in the trunk, or the crown being pretty dead, and then we selectively take down the tree.

We have a sloppy mess here. It snowed last night and there was quite an accumulation. Now it's raining and the snow's disappearing fast. It's supposed to freeze again and create dangerous icy conditions. Yay. Glad I'm stocked for now

There is Mores to learn ... beyond our imagination. Then there are things people tell me they do not believe ... a good pious man told me recently that a cup of CO2 in an Olympic sized swimming pool is negligible as it is as dilute as carbon diozide in our atmosphere ... even tho' he should know about the operation of IR detectors! These may even be used to detect a cup of furnace oil in the same pool that some say causes cancer ... imagine that! What we don't know is astronomical and then ...

I'm also told by people inland that this is impossible ... I guess I am all wet ... and should sink out of the line of sight because of what I declare and people tell me I'm ___ I will not repeat it so as to incriminate them ... the God-Kings are not to be criticized ... for what is deficient!

If I said something of experience when being taught book knowledge ... I was also told I was mad ... isn't that crazy how people eliminate questionable content?

Some of these are very determined ... I have requested assistance to go ... or anon as they used to say! Imagine departure of such info ...

I can understand that request coming from you as a very organized thinking person.
However, we know Luce for years and years and years now. I could see that discussion in other threads- however, this thread , well, is Room for all, even the incomprehensible and disorganized thoughts and expressions (as long as they don’t take over the whole thread- which I haven’t seen in this room yet)

I saw this article about the whirlpool in the Bay- have you ever seen it, Luce? It looks a bit scary, I wonder if boats could sink and people could drown if they get too close…

If I had been hiking this path and someone had told me six Jeeps could drive through it, I would not have believed them. They had to have someone on the ground guiding each Jeep through the last bit.

I was relieved to see that you and a friend didn't do this trip with one Jeep. Until reading this I wasn't clear about that.
 
The heavy snow started here late afternoon yesterday and I was planning to get up early to clear some before the rain started. However the rain started during the night. I moved a lot of heavy snow from our decks and the small roof over our back deck. I used the snowblower to clear some paths around the yard for Bella to use. A run away dog used them this late afternoon. I hope it got home safely. We walked to the back of the lot this afternoon. The snow was derp, heavy, and slushy in places. It is supposed to rain a bit tonight and turn to some snow. The next big storm is supposed to start late Friday.


We have about twenty ash trees on the front part of our lot and along the drain and several are showing signs of infection. There might be a few young ones started in the back part of the lot. The infected ones shed branches from small to very large and lots were shed in the storm last night.

I confess to feeling a bit angry at a whole bunch of things right now, so please ignore my general irritation.

I've said it before, but maybe not publicly. On any other board I am on, he would have been gone long ago. Warned, sanctioned, probably permabanned. Far from Luce having a hard time here, he has been coddled and tolerated.

We have just had a new member ask him not to engage with her unless he wants to use plain English. How many others have looked at his posts and just left without engaging at all?

You may think he adds something to the board. I am telling you as someone who has been a part of many forums over twenty years, he does not. No one should have to make a special effort to understand someone else's posts, least of all someone who accounts for somewhere between a third and a half of the posts on this site.

It is his responsibility to make himself understood, or at least understandable. He has no disability to blame, either. His posting style is entirely deliberate and he is really thumbing his nose at those of us who actually want to engage with other people and ideas on here.
