Room For All

I'm having a quiet day with a book today. I'll probably go outside in a bit. It's a good day to avoid the city. The highway is closed or down to one lane (from two) in each direction because of deliberately set bush fires.:mad: There's also a crash north of town. Driving will be a gong show today.

My guy bumped into someone we know a bit earlier today. Let's call him Peter. He was in town buying groceries because his Reserve has been without electricity since the storm on the 1st All the freezers, privately and Band owned have defrosted, causing the loss of thousands of dollars worth of meat, vegetables, fruit and medication. Most of the canned and packaged food has now been eaten.
Hubby asked whether there would be compensation? Peter replied that they hadn't heard anything about that being a possibility. They then chatted about who 'should' pay any compensation. Peter felt strongly that the power company ought to come up with a healthy payment because - they charge the Band and it's members twice as much for power as they charge the people in town!
Amazing what we don't know!

Home insurance?

No idea how these things work on Reserves. The housing is mostly owned by the Band, I think, and rented by the members. It sounded as if some of the food was being held by the Band for school meals, Soup Kitchen and Meals on Wheels type programmes. There is much poverty.

What beautiful skies
The colour of root beer rivers
The deep, warming heat
As the gardens leaf and leaf and thrive in all the plentiful plant food gas
ARUGULA for all!
Brussel Sprouts as big as ST:OS alien singing plants
Water pooling on the soil
Silvery with promise
TIME TO NIDDY SKIP!!!

Sad to hear about the band losing all that food.
One would think, that as a community, a band would have a better way of supporting it’s members by getting generators or establishing a community freezer. I remember here that in time of power outage, the fire department went around with generators and cooled people’s freezer down for a while then going to the next hosehold.

Good morning! We remember rains and windstorms, loss of hydro and freezers, the loss of food for the band, and how to recover from that loss, along with other thoughts and poetry. For all of this and more the Coffee Cart is ready to host your conversations, support your community building, and supply your virtual hot beverage needs. All is ready, come on in and join the fun.

Good morning all. Another hot one here with a chance of rain, but I still plan to water the garden. Wow...our garden looks like the end of July, not the beginning.

Yesterday, I took my mom to a sort of meet-and-get-to-know-you session with her church's new ministers. They have been there for most of the year, but wanted to share their stories, and learn other people's stories, including their connection with the church. Since this church was the one I grew up in (no longer attend but still count most of the congregation as friends!) I had things to share too. But I was worried that Mom wouldn't be able to answer any questions or tell her story. But others were so kind and mentioned things about her great pie baking skills and the big feasts she provided during haying season when we had a table full of hired young lads chowing down. I told a few stories to fill in the blanks. But it made me sad when mom said....Did I used to live there? when we passed the farm. And on our way to the church she kept rehearsing the names of her other two daughters who attend church with her. And then she said...Are those two going to be our new ministers? I told her they had been her ministers for the past year. She is so lost sometimes, but still sweet most of the time.

I didn't have a conversation with Peter so I don't know the details of the situation. For many families poverty, poor health, illiteracy, abuse and a myriad other barriers interfere with successful life management Add lack of transport, distance from services, no power for days and things go bass ackwards very quickly. I assume the leadership were doing the best the could.

The world s so full of accelerating dislike that I worry about what follows. I dislike Brussel Sprouts but hating them seems useless when so many like them.

Such functions of separation are getting so potent that I have been considering M Angelo's comment on taking a different path especially when there is so much hate of mental processes that many of the objects are becoming stressed out of existence without even believing in the concept of existentialism.

Thus one should not be mist that much ... even if draped in white coats and dark arts ... diabolical duality for the one-way vectors ... no ten sores ... decadent missing sectors? Gassy ... like discs around stellar conjunctions ...

Then Scot Peck intimated a similar process ... thus we vary ... and some of the best portions vanish over horizons lost ... not to be looked at that deeply so as to support the fantasy of human intelligence ... our world is supported on a wobbly loom ... something to be blind to ??? Occult artifacts ... black bones!

Freud suggested is was a move to de ath position ... hinde? Like Fanny or Phini ... then face your end ... Sur!

We're in town on a hot day. I dropped in at the church where they're having a tea for the minister who is getting married today. Hubby stayed outside in the car with the dog. We are now getting some groceries at the butcher and Costco. I decided to check to see if my CT and bone scan had been booked. They booked the CT at the wrong hospital. Again. The issue is that my mailing address is near that hospital but I'm physically near another one. I've done a lot of legwork and there are alerts on my file. And yet this continues. 4+ years! It is getting old. A big factor outside of the geography is that my sister when to that hospital when she was having her stroke in January 2020 and they diagnosed her with Bell's Palsy. I don't want anything to do with that hospital unless I have a medical emergency in that downtown. Vent over.

The only problem with venting here is words like f*** and s**t get modified. :censored:

I've written to Patient Care Quality about my frustrations and have given suggestions. For what it's worth. I understand they're busy, but seriously....

So many problems with our medical system that no one seems to be interested infixing! Sorry you are caught in this ridiculous one. Venting is allowed.

Yet disinterest is said to be the most successful route in the theory of exclusion (where worries and concerns can be disposed). Tell me again that the world is growing more intelligent and the people are not loosing this factor to the mire ... burnt earth policy, exhaust all useful and cool thought through ignition!

It may be a metaphor like God! Should we respect everything for its good and bad factors??? Bad stuff appears to be good to learn from ... then confine it ...

Seriously in efficiency ... all marginal activity needs to be shaved away y support big commissions for those that know little about what the prior purpose of these health organizations are for ... that priority was disposed of by ... (your not allowed t say it)!

Good morning! For meet-greets at churches, and for those with memory issues, for those caught up in healthcare tangles, for venting, even if some words don't show up in their full form ( there's a lot of venting going on in the Psalms, btw) and for all the rest, the Coffee Cart is a safe place to express it all. Giving thanks for listening ears and caring people who are here. May we continue in hearing and listening, caring and supporting, and, of course, imbibing hot beverages. All is ready, c'mon in.
