How was church today?

Occasionally but not today. One member who watched the service on Zoom emailed me afterward thanking me for the service and message. The musician thanked me for choosing One More Step for the closing hymn. It is one of her favourites and the previous minister would never let her use it.

"From the old, we travel with the new . . .
Keep me traveling along with you!"

Is this the one?

Black history month focus today with some songs I remember from CGIT camp!

Kumbaya
We are climbing Jacobs ladder
Down by the Riverside

Sermon focussed on God's word about humans remaining in an anima state ... distant from the trees ... as folk in the woods, forest, swamp are more difficult to get in order for the escape ... mortal Gods love lethal games ... those up there scoop up the essence of what ever essence rises ... allows warm floating sensations ... drifting off sentient?

Some say this is like a gybe in the dreamland or a turn taken erroneously in the Egyptian script! Thus alien constitutions that really are not true to how they were writ! Consider the First with reference of freedom from governed BS!

This reads to speech, press and all such gathering to scatter into the dark to discover what we don't know ... a vast dominion ... denied by many under the mortal god of naivete ... is that somnolent psyche? Ide rests ...

Palm Sunday ... Hillhurst kids were really involved - great energy & creativity. This won't be everyone's 'cup of tea' - but I really enjoyed it. Reminded me a lot of some services at my former church that included so much more than many church services. Here's a link - which I hope will start in the right spot for you to enjoy the creative land acknowlegement, news & 'message' today.

Nice Easter service today....with a church the most full that I've seen in awhile. We even had a few new faces. It was joyful, complete with balloons. I know there is doubt out there in the world about Jesus, and the resurrection, but when I experience joy in community like I do on Sundays....there is no doubt at all.

I'm still house sitting for my sister. I considered going to the church that's near here. I've decided to enjoy my coffee and join @GordW and his congregation. It's a nice way to join old friends from a distance. I'd love to be there in person. Another time

Sigh. Only in the 21st century can going to church be derailed by "technical difficulties". Unless.you count a car not starting under that.

The service had two of my favourite hymns and communion. The message focused on how pushed to the edge everyone would have been and the steadfastness of the women in the story, and how trusting in God or Jesus helps us when we are pushed to the edge. The rest of the service celebrated the resurrection.

Seems we had the internet signal drop twice, and then restart under another scheduled post. The full service is currently being uploaded.

I was hoping you'd say that. You guys looked and sounded good. It was great to see all the kids. I like your new 'do.
