Just finished watching season 5 of Unforgotten - phew - love this British crime 'who done it' police investigation series. Definitely keeps you guessing right until the last episode! And even then there are some twists.

On a lighter note - another series I enjoy is Ageless Gardens - usually on Vision TV, but also on youtube I think. Such a blessing to wander the garden somewhere when I can't be out in my own. Soon!!
 
I watched Eddie Eagle, and if you want to watch a feel good, uplifting, true story movie, this is it.
It's a story about Eddie dreaming about going to the Olympics and representing Britain, since he was eight years old. He just cant seem to find his niche ( because hes not quite good enough at anything he tries), until he happens upon downhill skiing,
Honestly, after latching on to downhill hill skiing, and only learning how to downhill ski for one year, this guy actually makes it to the Calgary Olympics, but it's the journey that you see in the movie that makes it so amazing...and more than once I was on the edge of my seat.
I had such a good feeling after watching it, and the message to never give up, was a good reminder for life in general.
I recommend it, and it's a great family movie too.
It's on Netflix.
 
We've just discovered Star Trek Enterprise on Crave. It's a prequel to the original Star Trek and most recent installment. I quite like it.

Trekkies were largely not fond of it. I had stopped.watching Trek by then but the buzz about it was always pretty negative save for liking Scott Bakula as the captain (he was already a geek favourite from Quantum Leap).

We just finished watching this a few days ago. We both enjoyed it.

Last night we watched the final episodes of Safe. It was very convoluted and kept us absorbed as we tried to figure out what happened and why.

Also recently enjoyed Snowden - yup THAT Ed Snowden of whistle blowing fame. Actually, I'm amazed that the US didn't 'disappear' him.

Actually, the most recent installments are all on Paramount+. Star Trek : Discovery (another prequel), Strange New Worlds (ditto), Picard (sequel to The Next Generation with some characters from other shows).

Oops, I wrote Enterprise when I meant Discovery. :barefoot:

To be clear I'm watching Star Trek Discovery. I've never watched Star Trek Enterprise.

Okay, that makes more sense. Strange New Worlds is kind of a spinoff of Discovery about the Enterprise under Captain Pike, Kirk's predecessor.

Yeah. The Discovery went through multiple captains, IIRC. Michelle Yeoh played the first but died at the end of the pilot (before returning in another role later). And Pike was in command for a bit, too? Then went back to the original Enterprise, setting things up for Strange New Worlds.

I've seen Pike mentioned. Spock has also been mentioned. Michelle Yeoh has returned
 
I've been watching the HBO series "The Wire"

Started in 2002 it ran for 5 seasons.
It was critically acclaimed

It is depressing in the portrayal of life "in the projects", policing and judicial systems

I saw a few episodes of it. No argument it probably deserved the accolades, but too gritty for me personally. But then I only watch "feel good" stuff lately. Life itself is gritty enough.
 
I just watched an article on Chrysler's production of a 1000+ HP sports vehicle ...

In a day of climate and energy concerns what does this say about blind ingenuity and other enigmas? Does it point to a populace of poorly educated nature about the circular world that has fallen into a hard line? Thus a bump in the cheek when one ponders the depth of the commentary! Is it a cud or something else to chew up onus ... it grinds!

I've always wanted to watch it because Steve Earle, a fav musician of mine, wrote the music, and performed a small part. Don't know why I never got around to it. And I never mind gritty. I don't much like to sugarcoat the reality that 95% of the world lives a lot more poorly than I do.
 
I'm at my sister's keeping her cat company and house sitting for awhile. She has Disney+ so I'm watching Hamilton. I know some of the music because we often listen to Broadway on Sirius radio. I'm loving it.
