Good morning, all! We indeed have snow. Seems to have stopped for the moment, but more than enough to deal with. Anyway, as some have snow, others have campfires, still others have snow blowers to deal with. Such winter fun! Anyway, for these topics, lost glasses, even thunder snows, and others, the Coffee Cart is up and running. Come take a break from digging out cars, cleaning sidewalks, etc. and enjoy the company.

Yeah, we got lots last night. Not going to be fun.

OTOH, I am feeling great after yesterday so at least I am going in feeling a bit pumped. :giggle:

I spent my young years (1 to 7) in Oakridge Acres in London.

I remember making a dinosaur out of snow with my siblings...and forts.

Also tobogganing at the golf course

Which golf course was the tobogganing course in London? In Kitchener it was (probably still is) Rockway, which has a huge hill.

First pass done but now waiting for the plow, then will have to go out again. I saw one doing the next street over so should come soon, I hope. Very heavy, wet snow. Even so, with the two of us both going at it, we got it in 45 minutes or so.

Ps. Back to front on the toboggan: my dad, probably me at 3, my uncle (married dad's sister) and probably my older sister) at 9. Probably one of the boys pushing us (they would have been 11 to 15

Trying to recall where we took Little M. There was a hill behind one of the rinks (might have been Oakridge) where we went skating. There's the "pit" or whatever you want to call it behind St. Joe's. There was a hill next to Medway arena which I think was just fill from when they built either the arena or the pool next door. That's gone now. They expanded the playground and put in a skateboard park. Probably others I am forgetting.

Just came in from leaning off the car. It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it might. The nice bright sunlight did a lot of the work for me. I don't think we got as much snow locally here as they were predicting earlier on Friday; but we got mre than enough to be going on with. Spring comes in 2.5 weeks!

Got car out of big guy's no problem this a.m., got home, plow hadn't been. So, parked on street, let out dog, went down to suggest that boarder get her car out now, if she could, so service could do whole driveway. She got stuck, so M and I next door got her out (me ultimately driving, as I weigh the least and have a gentle lead foot), I got front steps cleared enough that I can walk up them, at which point, my back screamed "no more"! It's packing snow, for sure. Would be a great day to make a snowperson.

Have a goal of a box of books and 3 bags of clothes for the thrift store on Tuesday. Threw half a dozen books in the box today (any attachment that I have to my Mom and Dad's mutual obsession with James Herriot, the country vet, is purely sentimental). I am, thus far, though, finding it hard to part with books. Mainly because the closest shelves are most likely to have the most sentimental or useful stuff, I hope. Also, it's dusty working around here...

And where the hell is the snow service? Maybe they are waiting for it to melt; it is compacting pretty rapidly.

We only got a wee sprinkle of the white stuff. Our snow clearing is done by one of our sons, with the blower we bought and he stores. My spousal unit has started clearing off the car with a leaf blower this year. Noisy but quick and easy.
