How was church today?

A new worship leader today, Jessica, was unable to get her laptop to work with the church's AV system so we sang accapella. Her message about the importance of finding Joy in what we have and who we are was very good.

Oh that tech incompatibility thing - nightmare! I did a recent workshop & at the last minute before leaving home I did a backup of my PPT slides to a thumb drive - you know, 'just in case'. Well - good thing I did! My little newer laptop didn't marry up with their older projector - but the tech guy had a computer that did & so popped in the thumb drive ... all was well!! Phew. A little prayer of thanks was said! Good for y'all jimkenny12 for the joyful accapella singing!

Due to the weather, our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services were cancelled this year. However, our minister put together a 'storm version' for Facebook Live. It was very much appreciated by many people. I am doing the New Year's Day service, and I expect a near-empty sanctuary for it.

Yeah, New Year's, or the Sunday between it and Christmas in most years, is usually a "low Sunday" even in UU churches. At the UU fellowship, we eventually moved to doing a small format service similar to a summer service for that weekend. Chairs in a circle instead of rows, with the leader, Chalice, etc. in the middle of the circle. More interactive, too, with group readings and sometimes a bit of discussion rather than a sermon/homily.

We had a Wed marriage of Caribbian nature (La Guna Dan) attended by Peruvians, Senegalese, Jamacians and Canadians 1st Nations ...

Still background noise of racism and they were all in a rush ... as most powers go! Round and round the dance ... and many had a good tme of the tattoo because they knew what it was understood to be ... somewhat abstract because of what couldn't be said ... ineffable?

Tension released at the end of the thing ... a winger ...

Still very small numbers at church. And we had a baptism today...one of those families we only see when they have kids to baptize. But we smile and make our promises. I think I need a break from church because I'm getting cynical and feeling a little taken advantage of as volunteer secretary. I'm sure this is just a phase....

Volunteer burnout is a very real issue.

Sabbaticals, regardless of how long they are, are important for fruitful faith lives. They provide time to look at what we do, the outcomes that seem to result, and our goals for our faith lives. When we take a break from doing a service that affects others, it provides them with the opportunity to notice the difference you make and to be open to discussing what you do and why. If you decide to return to that role, you will be able to say something like, "This is what I need if I am going to take up this role again."

The beginning of a new year is a good time to take a time out. I wish you well with whatever you decide.

I'm experienceing a cynicism in the church that I was told to be blind to as a child ... yet it erupts from demos when overly compressed and deprived of necessities ... in order to make kinds, winners and that sort ... busts on pedistalls ...

Are these stable or tending excessively in one vector if there senses are over powered? Thus the incarnation of the veil and tapestry ... a kind of back drop? Meanwhile beyond the seeing ... or as scene ... additional counter intelligence! Goes against the grain of the institutionalized how ever ...

Imagine going from over 200 to leass that 20 in a few decades ... deca dense prevails! More of the invertibrates ... no back bone when becoming familiar with alien matter ... even the bones of humor break down ...

Are sabbaticals like unidentified abyss? Thus we enter those unseen spaces as dark and shadowy ... where depressed psyche goes ... a downer where they have odd races ... naked virtue as rye in the field ... and the emperor didn't see it that way from where heis was fixed ... daffy duos as non binary?

Catch M if you can ... often an enigma ... seen only during periods in the wasteland of dreams ... san sentient? May resemble a psychopath ... mentally no feeling what so ever ...

When we arrived at church yesterday, people were leaving. There was no heat because the fuel oil tank was empty. It had been filled on December 8 and the cover was broken off indicating someone stole oil from the tank. So we met at McDonald's and had good conversations.

Church of a different kind!

Church of a different kind!

Imagine a farm church as ferme ... a phalis Heh? The things learned in the barn ... lofty ... and sects remains with the unmentionables ... beyond the fabric?

Should we know B ... yawned that ... rites of peace and they rested ... but ye cannot speak of Ide ... as induc tease ... colons ... medi evil medicine ... hobos and moving bummers ... serial river runners? Maids of the mist ... the last he remembered was extraction ... and oil floats ... OL lei? Thus the olive and the spin ache ... dressing up after the vegetation. Omi ess on ...

So sad that someone had to steal from a church. But then again....they must have been desperate, so that sadness is that such situations exist. I'm glad you found a good way to worship (and witness!) at McDonald's!

Today was the first communion service that I have attended in months and it was a good service. The repairs to the heating system were completed last evening. It feels good to be part of a caring congregation that immediately welcomed us last year.

Our furnace kicked up yesterday ... it may be the death knoll to some activity in the church! The the ruff is in bad condition as the roof there ... like Martin rootheire ... he warned ... thus admonition and dodges of the concern!

We don't wish to hear of it ... imagine the silence ...
