Laundry done. Man the laundry room was busy today. I got some material cut out and had a visit with a friend in the lounge while the machines did their thing. I'm pooped and slightly cranky now. My feet are up and I have a glass of wine and my knitting.

How do you play euchre online?
we use an app called Trickster Cards - there are a number of card games on that platform & you can turn on camera & audio - so it's pretty fun! And free. We've mostly played online since COVID arrived - and it works really well.

I used to play cribbage, euchre, and a few other games on a site called pogo.com. Not even sure if they're around anymore; this was close to 15-20 years ago (back in the Dark Ages, as far as internet sites go).

The site sounds familiar, couldn't tell you what I played there though!
@Carolla 's set up sounds much fancier than anything I have done for multiplayer online gaming. Chemguy has done a lot more, a group play D&D regularly that started in 2020. Was the usual group who used to get together to play various games in person.

I also played Euchre and cribbage online many years ago. I couldn't tell you what site I used. I recently tried to play backgammon online. It included betting and such so I stopped. Scrabble is my only online game these days. I've slowed down there because my favourite partner died on October 31. She was a friend I met in Brownies at age 7 or 8.

Yes, on Facebook one of my favourite Scrabble partners passed away, Crazyheart. Then the scrabble game on FB changed, and became more of a 3 ring circus than a fun game, so now I'm down to (eek) Words with Friends there.

Got info from my optometrist today, she has moved forward with paperwork for the procedure. Will see what happens I guess, with Christmas coming up I wouldn't be surprised if that delays the process.

I remember Black Magic Chocolates! Caramel cubes were my favourites.
Do you know if that was mostly Eastern Canada? I don't remember ever seeing those.

As kids, we loved Pot of Gold. The chocolate caramel cubes reminded me of that.
They changed the boxes at some point in my teens and they were no where near as good.
The fruit ones were our favourites - cherry, orange and it was either strawberry or raspberry.
Lately it's Purdy's instead and they came out with new flavours sometimes in the last 10 years. Don't know why they do not put them in the standard box. Fingers crossed next year I will be up to doing some custom boxes, from what I remember it's the same price but need to go when it's not to busy and they have the loose stock to do it.

Good morning! Once again weather and road conditions are topics, along with treatments, online card and Scrabble (and sort-of-Scrabble) games, chocolates and the memories they make, and household chores. Life is nothing if not varied! The Coffee Cart is ready, come on in.

Good morning. A good sleep and the ignore function have improved my mood. I look around this lovely room and see all the empty spaces vacated by those who have left us. Echos of banter about a roofer. An Aussie accent. Deep thoughts. Silly humour. I miss those days.

I'll sit and reflect here by the fire. I brought some muffins and a little Bailey's for your coffee if you're interested. Sigh.

Can you abstract something as rye in the marketplace ... as the marketplace tends to be brutal and cares not if the people lose in minimalism?

It is a small thing in a great greedy non thing that can eat you up ...

Imagine a God of the marketplace ... there are those that flatter it ...

I know some people here have had eye procedures, for things like cataracts. Wondering if anyone had membrane applied? It seems to be done for a wide number of eye issues.
The eye procedure that I'm waiting approval on is fairly new, but I would really love to talk to someone who had something similar done.
I've gone from not needing glasses and not really having much for eye issues besides usual allergy flareups in the past to looking at a multi-treatment approach for multiple although related problems.

Good morning! Happy Advent 4! As we chat about online games and in person games, good sleeps and upcoming eye treatments, let us join round the coffee cart, for conversation, support and hot beverages. All is ready, some and get it.

For those looking for holiday season diversions - here's Trickster Cards. Lots of games - you can play with 'computer partners' or join other games with real folks, or create your own game with your friends & family at a distance. You can also just practice or learn new games too, set up variations of the game rules (euchre in particular has lots of options & one month I learned we could play 6 handed euchre!) etc. Trickster Cards

That's all for now - gotta go get ready for the soccer final match - going to be a tense one I think!!

No idea about regionality of Black Magic Chocolates. I see they're still around - now owned by Nestle (a good reason to not buy them now IMO). On sale at lots of places from Cdn Tire (yes! true!) to grocery stores.

Yes - Pot of Gold is one I also remember!

Good morning. We were planning to go to the first service in the new church building today. It looks like a snow globe out there so I think we'll be staying home. Snow and island drivers are not always a great combo.

I haven't heard about applying membrane to eyes. Will follow along and try to learn something new. I had cataracts removed and it didn't seem to be a big deal. It didn't make much appreciable difference to my vision unfortunately. I have a genetic eye disease that is slowly becoming more problematic for which there is no fix..
