Room For All

Good Morning! As we remember those we miss seeing here, as we do what we can to help neighbours adjust to new surroundings, as we suffer through unnecessarily long meetings, and prepare to say goodbye to good friends, let us come together in support and conversation round the Coffee Cart. All is ready, come on by.

I think we need a new, more appropriate, name for freezing rain but anything I think of wouldn't be allowed on mainstream media. Drive to work wasn't bad but the parking lot is a freakin' skating rink. Got close to the door so no slip and fall, just a rather nervous walk from the driver's door to the salted walk next to the building.

Sending hugs Bette - and happy to hear that your 'new guy' got the all important seal of approval! Your church friend sounds like a treasure indeed.

We went back to her today, as she had left a story unfinished. Finished the story, we have a movie we need to watch for her. Another good cry, great expressions of love all around, got to meet her grandson from B.C., we smiled and hugged for the last time, and she told me that the big guy would look after me, which pleases her. I will be at work tomorrow morning when she moves on to her next journey. A great lady is passing.

Good morning! The coffee is perking and water is getting warmer, won't be long till both are ready. As we think of one who will take their final journey this morning, and the dear ones they leave behind; as we remember one who has survived and continues their sojourn here, as we join with all others who are going through all sorts of other circumstances, let us come together in spirit round the coffee cart, supporting and being supported by each other, and making sure each others' cups are filled. All is ready.

Good morning. Today is starting out overcast. I'm not sure what the day will bring. I'll probably head down to the laundry room today and will cut out some fabric for a bag while the machines are doing their thing. We'll see what the day brings. I'll be thinking of @BetteTheRed and sending warm thoughts. The coffee is delish btw.

Left home at 6:30 this morning for the Ottawa General and it took an hour longer fue to the blizzard. Roads were better, not great, and only took half an hour longer to get home.

ah - 'a murder of crows' - intriguing language to describe groupings in the animal world! Crows are quite fascinating to watch - and yes very noisy!!

Have been baking my triple ginger Gingersnaps today - the house smells fabulous! I'll leave a little tray of them beside the coffee station for y'all to enjoy!
Online euchre tonight for me - we elected to meet electronically this month so one of our beloved members can participate - she has a recent leukemia diagnosis & will go into hospital next month for a stem cell transplant - so she is avoiding most contact with others in an effort to stay as well as possible. This month's host made & delivered Xmas euchre treat bags to each of us :-) A cocktail in a can, and a variety of snacks of sweet & salty types, and a few home-made goodie too. We'll all dig into those together on our 'pre-playing' zoom chat. Looking forward to it!

Glad you coped safely with poor road conditions. Travelling when sick brings added concerns too, including for the driver.
