Covid 19 Vaccine

Why would we use a vaccine against BÀ.1 if we have a vaccine against 4 and 5? Are you thinking that because the first vaccine is available and ready to go, we should take it now and just wait till the newer vaccine becomes available? Excuse my ignorance, but I got distracted during my August hospital stay and stopped following Covid news.
B1 vaccines have been tested in humans, the B4 and 5 only on mice/animals, so that may be why Canada is pushing this one? The USA seems okay with the lack of human trials.

mRna technology itself has been tested on millions.

Thanx for the info. Yes, the mRNA has really worked with Covid.

Yes, we should use what's available even if it isn't the absolute best for matching that exists. The vaccine that was approved yesterday has excited for a while. Many people got a booster shot which kept hospitalizations down as Omicron waves have happened this year.
Just because a vaccine is made doesn't mean it can be approved, produced for the population immediately and delivered.

I don't at all regret my decision to get a 2nd booster this past July.

When you don't know should one take a chance on the unknown as in in quantum fields ... a Wahl we are against crossing?

It has this vacant attraction as nature of a filly awe ... the challis syndrome entered with a splash!

We gave up trying to follow the confusing info long ago. We get a shot of whatever is offered, when told to! Had four so far, all Moderna.
Great if there's something in place that is up to date with all info and gives the information quickly.
I found with the 3rd primary dose that it wasn't really clear, I feel into many grey areas and the criteria also changed with time.
My 5th dose I also decided to go earlier than the standard recommendation by a couple weeks - risk activities and worked out great with medication usage too.
Right now though no clue about 6th plans. Some info should come out this week for at least the 1st phase.

Remember nothing makes sense because of pious stances on not moving forward in knowledge and learning ... the leaders are exemplar this way! Such as it is, ignorant bullying is released ... and still they don't understand the reason ... in reciprocal light the lambda's y's tuit ... unending miracles continuously turn up among the innocents ... tyrants murder them given the concept of avarice ... thus drainage of what they believed a swamp! Swamped by thoughts poisons them ... mental exchange and crossover? Dis posing ... of shrouds ...

I'm like @KayTheCurler. I gave up following the information. I'll rely on my doctor to decide about another dose. I've had four full Moderna doses. I thought at least one would be a half dose.

Looking for information on what the plan is for bivalent vaccines in Alberta.
This is the extent of what I can find:
It is anticipated this vaccine may be available in Canada and likely Alberta as early as fall, 2022.

I can understand waiting to hear about deliveries first, but surely they could at least put out a statement with something to that effect.

Quebec is making bivalent vaccines available today or tomorrow I believe.
Searching for what the plan is here has brought up Manitoba, BC and Quebec.
Probably plans elsewhere too that just didn't come up with I had Alberta in the search terms.
I know the shipments here with the earlier batches of vaccines were often a bit behind some of the other provinces, so not actually setting up appointments yet I understand. But the lack of stating anything is odd.

Dr Henry, Adrian Dix and Dr Ballem gave an update yesterday. BC will be offering the bivalent vaccine to the most vulnerable starting soon. Those of us in this category can expect to get the invite to get the vaccine around the six month mark or a little earlier after their booster. They are encouraging us to get the flu vaccine at the same time

Alberta is still silent on the bivalent vaccine. I emailed one of the local major news stations and got a response back quickly, they are just getting a standard canned response from the government about them reviewing information.

I wonder if they are looking at the fact that 2nd boosters opened to many in July that they want to wait for the newer versions, similar to what the US did.

I can understand that thought process but I think it would be ideal if they just gave everyone the choice, open bivalent access now (highest risk first, at least for a few days or until greater supply comes in) but announce that we are hoping to move forward quickly with newer versions.

Similar to decisions people were already making this summer 2nd booster or wait for bivalent.

Alberta is still silent on the bivalent vaccine.
Ontario has it out for the most vulnerable now and goes wide (everyone over 18) on September 26. I am still less than 3 month post infection so won't be doing it until Fall, though.

Yeah, saw that. I find Alberta's silence odd especially since they were so good about doing adults quickly when covid vaccines were new.

This made me laugh

Had to click around a bit to see what province they were talking about. I guess they only expect locals to come across what they publish? Even the home page - not obvious to me!

When expecting to hear something from government, do not be frustrated as they are not trained in hearing and thus there is nothing to pass on ... and yet the entire thing may pass over ... autocracy is said to be best and several of those are running with the support of those that believe they are part of the practical pragmatism ... even when they are mistaken!

Thus simple becomes you know that mushy complex of the swallowed and digested ... we have to deal with ide ...
