I have had problems with my neck for more than a decade so I would never attribute a stiff, sore neck to anything other than having a stiff, sore neck :ROFLMAO: . For me, it was developing a mild cough less than 24 hours after my wife came down with it that prompted me to test again (I had already tested and was negative the previous day when Mrs. M first tested positive). It escalated from there (fever, headache, worsening cough) and the worst part lasted about three days.
Same here but in retrospect the pain came on mid day, I didn’t wake up with it. I tend to compartmentalize my aches and pains when I’m busy trying to do whatever I’m doing because I have to, but it was a bit different.

I had a slightly scratchy throat and slightly stuffed up nose and so far that’s it. Oh, slight headache for a couple of hours, but I was wearing one of those plastic hair bands that pinches behind the ears so I took it off - that was probably a Covid symptom I wrote off too because normally even wearing sunglasses and a face mask that puts pressure behind my ears can give me a headache.

I still have the slightly stuffed up nose and slightly scratchy throat. No fever. I don’t recall having a fever unless I thought it was a hot flash and fell back asleep lol. That’s normal for me. No chills for sure. Unless it suddenly gets worse tomorrow, that’ll be 5 days of one of the most minor colds I’ve ever had, which I find weird.

I had no idea either. I've had chronic neck pain so when it gets a bit sore I figure it's the same old same old. This is good information.

I hope you feel better soon.
I get it on and off. A few yrs ago I had radicopathy (sp) from slight disk degeneration but nothing that bad since.

Like I said, this was a bit different because it just showed up midday. In retrospect felt a bit different but I can’t describe how - just slightly off lol. But I could’ve easily ignored all of this. I decided to test out of caution, in part because I was supposed to travel this week - but I know a lot of people are not (besides, government says we don’t have to) and that’s contributing to why covid is probably never going to end.

We visited friends in the Peace who held this view. I wasn't surprised by him. I was surprised and saddened by her views. They do live in a city that has a high percentage of Freedumb fighters. They also had a high covid rate during the peak (or one of the peaks) of covid. I've decided to walk away from them. It's not worth it.
It’s about 60-40 freeedum fighters to people who read real information, in this neighbourhood. Disappointing and surprising. The peace loving hippies have turned into right wing conspiracy theorists along with the convoy roughnecks. The world is upside down. That said, from what I can see probably 90% (ok maybe 80%) of the adults in this area are chronic weed smokers. I do wonder whether there’s something to that. Everybody’s high and hypothesizing and picking up misinformation that sounds like what they want to imagine or makes them feel antiestablishment when actually they are being used and becoming part of the structure of the authoritarian establishment that’s rising by exploiting people’s selfish impulses?

Lol I don’t know but it’s a strange place. Also, I read the median age is 36 in this area. But it seems like the freedum fighting impulse is particularly high in those over 40. Peers my age here sure are more prone to absurdity lol. I have no idea what the general opinions about Covid are among the youth population who’d be their children. (Full disclosure I do use cannabis products in moderation but my opinions about Covid were formed in a different physical and cultural environment before I moved here.)

Also, sorry Northwind that a brief reply became an essay ;) )

Is the process of extracting thoughts a pain in the neck ... as one bends over the books?

Some say learning process is a pass somewhere ... and thus it falls to the numb carrier ... this carries on as I carries through ... passing? Thus the free go ... as part of the dark games ... rendered as gamas ... and we gamooz ... not unlike Muses ... as thoughts go! They may loop ... as lapse ... and then one forgets ... the God cycle! Runs parallel as an enigma to the dash from subject to object so the narcist can see itself from out there ... temporal thing! Just a flash ... like twinkles on a cold dark niche in Nordic lands with a Thor Bum from sitting in the wrong place ... Frozen? Seized with a chill of Maan (that's another isolated story ripe for assemblage). One is required to put a great deal together ... if you can gather ...

If psyche is denied and eliminated ... what then ... No Way! An archy took over as a floater ... so it goes, chaos ad continuum ... su*mores? Is that too much for the great unknowing to ask?

Good morning! The mid week dawns, as mortgages and masks, sewing crafts and freedumbery, and pains in the neck (and elsewhere) find their way into the nix. These and other topics can be discussed around the coffee cart, where all is ready. Welcome.

The mortgage is growing on what was possessed here ... it may sink us so expect the well thunk as deeper ...

And if you wonder at my personal debt ... reconsider what the great powers owe a quiet quitting creeps like a lizard brain and he Mos tates! Claspers ... per Tatum?

If there had been a survey of this neighbourhood published “what percentage identify as freedum fighters?” - never mind median age (I feel under 36 at heart), cool restaurants, street fashionistas, live music and lots of amenities, I really would’ve thought twice about moving here because the right wing conspiracy theory endemic bothers my brain too much.

Imagine all the disconnected, dissociated and unknowing of the dark network that could sink the entire thing as ultimate extent of naivete! The stewed Putin factor ... well trum Pete 'd ... so as to have blown it! Perhaps taking the entire world down with the desire for avarice ... profound foundationalism? Lizard brain in a hostile environment ...

My husband and I both have colds...tested for Covid but negative. This is the first time we've had a cold in about 3 years, so it seems to be hitting hard. He goes for his second injection today, and then our second trip to the cancer clinic. Add a head cold, sore throat, hoarse voice to all that and I'll have to look really, really hard for the bright side of it all!

I never did test positive for covid with a rapid antigen test, but my wife did and we had the same thing. And it's similar to what you describe.

I'm thinking false negatives.

Either way, get plenty of rest. I didn't and I'm back to coughing.

Those who’ve had Covid… did you lose your sense of taste and smell at all? Was it completely or just for some things?

I feel like I can smell some things but not other things. Also my roommate and I share a huge bottle of shampoo she bought and we need to use up but I normally don’t like the smell. It’s a “natural” brand and works fine but it has jasmine in it or orchid or something. Lily! It smells like lily. It’s not strong (doesn’t linger in the hair) there’s just an under-note that I don’t like. Reminds me of moth balls. But yesterday it actually smelled better! Moth ball notes were gone. Weird.

And I can’t smell what the house normally smells like - it smells kind of old and stale usually tbh, sometimes like wet dog - it’s clean but until March an often wet dog lived here for 6 yrs lol - my roommate uses no scents for freshening it up and normally I would at least use natural essential oils or ‘something’ occasionally to freshen and get icky smells out. My roommate is really nice I’m not complaining just stating facts because this smell thing is interesting. I can smell my Lush Karma perfume that I can’t wear anywhere (until now lol). It smells the same lol just less strong because my nose is plugged? I guess I have to wait until it clears up totally so I can determine if it’s just diminished taste /smell typical of nasal congestion or if it’s actually blunted. I think I can’t smell bad smells only good ones so that’s a bonus lol!

This is how my husband's illness presented, plus body aches; he tested -ve on first but then +ve the following day & subsequent test a few days later. There are a lot of false negatives with this variant. Also, we followed local dept of health guidance to do a cheek/gum swab first, followed by both nostrils then proceed with testing. Instructions in the box do not mention doing cheek swabs. Fingers crossed for you & husband Nancy.

I really dislike that now that I have Covid little normal things I’d shake off are coming to my awareness. Eg. I am in bed and I was leaning on my hand with fist closed for awhile so my fingers got pins and needles. Totally normal. It’s gone now. But “heart attack? Stroke?” Crossed my mind. I hope that impulse goes away because I don’t want to be thinking like that constantly. I realize it’s good to be self-aware of health but I don’t want to overreact or spend unnecessary time thinking about it.

I think that's one thing that has bothered me the most through all this. Many in the yoga community, natural health community and peace loving hippies are in the conspiracy crowd. I find that sad. I read that some of these practices feed into our narcissistic traits so that may be a factor.

Many (not all) chronic weed smokers have an "interesting" logical process. I'm not surprised at how it has manifested into the covid related conspiracies.

So here's a weird thing I'm trying to figure out if its Covid related or not because I did not test positive for Covid.
Back in April I had a sudden onset rheumatoid arthritis only in my hands. My fingers looked like sausages, my hands felt like something was eating me inside, I couldnt lift things or open doors, could barely drive....my xrays showed RA....everything points to RA right?
Took antiinflamatories and pain pills. This all happened while caring for my daughter who had a hysterectomy for endometriosis with complications, she also had a severe case of C diff.
We were in and out of hospitals for her treatment.
So loooong story short....MY symptoms are gradually getting better.
I'm wondering if it was "viral reactive arthritis" caused by covid? My doctor thinks I'm rediculous, literally.
Has anyone ever heard of Covid causing arthritis or am I being ridiculous?
Sorry for the long story.

I don't think that's ridiculous at all. It's not unusual for virus to trigger flares of autoimmune issues, or even being the initial trigger that causes them to develop in the first place. Then throw in COVID with an usually large range of symptoms, even in those with mild-moderate symptoms, it's not like ok they add on with severity, each symptom is a separate probability it seems. So it definitely seems possible.
You could get antibody testing if you want. Not sure if the public health system is doing that where you are, private companies that do antibody testing for previous infection seem widespread.

Plus the wellness industry in general doesn't help. A lot of GOOP-esque pseudoscience products and procedures and distrust of a fair bit of conventional medicine. Danielle Smith's Naturopath is a great example of that.

Jumping into other non-evidence based beliefs isn't a huge stretch.
