Lots of snow here again/still in Northern Ontario. Our kids signed us up to receive snow ploughing for the season as a Christmas gift, and it sure is appreciated! We have a rather long driveway and it takes hours to shovel by hand. (small house, but a party driveway!) So, at two thirty this morning, I heard the delightful sound of a tractor ploughing away. And I mean it...It is a delightful sound!
 
Not much snow here, maybe only a total of 18" accumulation on the flat; keeps on melting and freezing. I pay for a plow service every year, but there are two vehicles in the driveway at night (I have a boarder who lives in a fairly self-contained unit downstairs) and the plow only does to the back of whatever car(s) are in the driveway when he arrives. So we still have to shovel beside our cars, the front porch, and her back walkway. However, it saves my back from the mountains of crap that snow plows and sidewalk plows dump in the driveway, and in these days of warming weather, it's more often wet heavy snow, so I'm happy I've got it.

My neighbour's dog is sick with suspected kennel cough, so Lucy's been without a walking partner for a week, and it looks like it's not clearing up. Now, neighbour is sick, as well, so had to go and do shopping for her this afternoon. It's very interesting doing other people's shopping who are unrelated to you. I'm not sure I'd like to be a personal shopper after all.
 
We have lots of snow - enough that the Town workers can't get it cleared away before more arrives. However, today we have had mild temperatures, rain and freezing rain. This should prove interesting!

I repeat there are folks right into gaz ... the pacho part it travels like de Maus ... Gon Zales ... make what you can of the gift ... that's the word!

Z is the complete Ale ... totalized ...inclusive of bubbles! Even swamps do it ...

Some get right into the cups instead of sipping ... recommendation: all things in moderation as they pile up in the medium! Place to put immaterial thoughts as defined by metaphysics and paranormal activity ... its beyond me! There are people that will argue it and charge on with the mindless hoot; ger onamoh! Then as dedicated to blind faith ... how is their visor? That's ole ... dark inere ...

We were slowly extending our snowshoe trail on our lot and the adjacent farmer's field until Wednesday. Rained often yesterday afternoon, outing at times. We have not checked the trail yet but our dog is using it to explore our neighbour's yard. I hope to finish extending it to the trees at the bottom of the hill on the far side of the field. Learned ski poles are helpful when breaking trails when there is a crust over close to 30 cm of powdery snow. I had to slowly get back up at least twice on Wednesday wishing I had ski poles with me. Hard to get up when my body is sinking into the snow as I struggle to get it over the shoes.

Snowing here as well. Youngest son is off for a weekend with the Reserves, so my husband and I will be enjoying seafood tomorrow.

We have seen evidence of someone doing line locates on our road. At first is was just a 1/3 of the way to our house, then it made it just past a house that was torn down with a new one going up, and then, it was exciting, when they made it past our house. This is fabulous news, as that means something is being placed as a new or improved service.

I contacted the county and they called me back to inform me that it is for conduit and that the conduit will be for.....internet service.
OH MY GOODNESS. There is a dream, which isn't that farfetched, that we may be getting fibre on our road.
 
We are only 15.4 km away from our previous home, where he had fibre for both Bell and Rogers. (I actually had both services for a long time, just in case one failed for any reason. Cost of doing business)

We are only 11km from the edge of the built-up part of the city.
 
We enjoyed a nice campfire with friends tonight. It was a clear crisp evening. It was about 10 degrees this afternoon and is down to 2

Ooh, we have 12 degrees, sunshine and everything is melting ( until tomorrow eve when we will get the next snow). Neighbours are picking away the last ice on their driveways, the cat enjoys being able to go into the catio.
I went for a nice walk around town and picked up a lawn sign against clearcutting.
Next I have to pick and dig my way into the shed through a meter of snow drift to find a stake.

Temperature plummeted here today. After a couple of days around zero, it's a chilly -15 at present. Took the dog down to the lakeside rail trail for her walk, and it was really a bit chilly for it.
 
Yeah took a nosedive here, too. Had to de-ice the front walk so Mrs. M could bring shopping in safely.
 
It was a beautiful day here today. We went for a walk in a park that is a gem on the city.
