It's not just ON, seems like multiple provinces ans states moving that way. The AB referendum was a no, barely. I think if the question was should we stop changing the clocks that would have been a yes. It wasn't well publicized it was suggested to go to daylight time year round was because that's the plan for other places too. Here's an article which points out that Ontario went to permanent daylight time which may, in fact, be the worst option. We should be fixing our clocks on standard time. Well done, Queen's Park.

Canadians set back clocks this weekend as debate over seasonal time changes continues
Most Canadians have the chance to catch up on some sleep when clocks move back an hour Sunday, but an Ontario politician is optimistic it could be the last time for the country's most populous province.beta.cp24.com
The article says that Russia tried doing year-round daylight time and backed off after three years. Makes the sunrise too late in the far North. They say even in Alberta it would mean the sun rising as late as 10am in the most northerly regions around the solstice. It's not just ON, seems like multiple provinces ans states moving that way. Heard on the radio that all year standard time would be the healthiest for all in Canada. The article says that Russia tried doing year-round daylight time and backed off after three years. Certainly that is my preference. DST must go.Heard on the radio that all year standard time would be the healthiest for all in Canada.
Or we could abandon timezones altogether. Just adjust work hours as needed.
I think the standard work hours would still be fairly provincial. One place would be 9 to 5, another 10 to 6, 11 to 7, etc.I'm not sure how that would work. I can get behind 24 fairly logical timezones, same time year around.

I don't see how relabelling what noon is makes people work counter to circadian rhythms.I don't like that, at all. Forcing people to work counter to their circadian rhythms just because of where they live?
