Is it an adult only space for now? I think the under 12s are a big spreading factor too, which isn't anyone's fault besides things that are driving population spread in general. I think though consideration needs to be made on risk vs benefit before they are around vulnerable populations.
We don't have a huge children's presence, although we do have a couple of families with children, who have stayed engaged in two ways: via a virtual Sunday morning Junior Church, and on special projects with Rev Susan, putting together stuff for services. I was there last Saturday, delivering groceries, making carrot and celery sticks, slicing tomatoes and onions for the BBQ. Susan had a family of four kids, the oldest a teen who helps supervise the smallers, and they put together 60 paper bags filled with "stuff" for the service - leaves with a label on them, a small marker to write on the leaf label (which a couple of people would collect and another fasten to a posterboard heart), a rock (for releasing burdens; prayed on and collected), a small tube of soapy water with a bubble wand in it (cannot remember why we blew bubbles, but it was fun), a piece of communion bread in a little baggie with a "gifts of the spirit" sticker (to go with the lectionary reading), and a piece of candy (just because).

Triage has begun, meanwhile Kenney spoke of managing his own burn out.

I suggest he do a rapid change of career and try being a healthcare worker right now. Or if he'd like to experience over-the-top skin irritation, he can work, for minimum wage, in a grocery store (I'm only lucky that this s**t so far avoids my face; I can largely keep it covered, although my hands are a bit raw looking at present - take money in my left palm, because it just looks a little red, not cracked and bleeding like the right). He might learn a little something about real burnout. Gak, idiot.

Today in the grocery store, I see a couple. He is not masked, she is. They didn't come to my lane, funny, my irritated glare puts them off; however, I was moved to wonder about their thought processes. Her: we need some groceries; I'll put on my mask. Him: I need to help you, and irritate everyone in the store at the same time. Her: that's cool. WTAF?

Germany is changing the bylaws and makes it mandatory to have two masks in every First Aid kit in the car ( First Aid kits in cars are already madatory)

NB is going down in smoke and ashes at poor fore sight ... people are being wasted ... for the sake of economy and thus mother nature pares us down ...

Not enough space for people in this RV ng business ... thus we goes!

A person in my circle told me that their good friend from childhood had contracted COVID. (My guess is person was in 50s).
This friend is the primary caregiver for her grandchildren and just hadn't taken time to get vaccine. Was, to her knowledge, not anti-vaccine.
Last week, things were touch & go, she seemed to be getting better, then she took a turn for the worse, and died.
What an avoidable waste of a woman, a grandmother, a friend.
Needless to say, there was a lot of sadness.

The whole " didn't take the time" thing gets to me. I spend a lot of time going to appointments, dealing with medications and supplies, picking them up, etc.

Early on with the vaccines people who don't have to do all of those things experienced it. By June though, at least in populated areas it was made as easy as possible for 1st and 2nd doses. When 3rd doses were announced it wasn't so simple. Now people can even get $100 for being lazy and getting a 1st or 2nd dose. I spoke to 1 nurse 3 doctors plus reached out to a 4th doctor (required to have a doctor's confirmation) and I won't get $100 when I go get it.

Really interesting article in the Star the other day. They interviewed people who came out to the recent pop up clinics and asked them what they hadn't sought vaccination earlier.

Many cited inconvenience and simple procrastination! Some have been motivated by the introduction of the so called vaccine passport in this province.

The person was busy caring for family, money was extremely tight, I'm betting she was tired.

I know many caregivers that neglect their own health for others. I know people who have problems with technology

I understand the situation, and just share as i am thinking her friends are wishing they could have facilitated.

In Ontario there is no $100 payment.

Anyone mention that they did and only became eligible again more recently?

It's not her specifically, it's a story I'm hearing repeated. There was the hair stylist who made the news here. The relatives to the coworker, where she put in the effort so at least the pregnant woman had 1 dose before getting sick (I think he is now out of the ICU). Just hearing it from others who haven't gotten sick.

As for problems with technology, I don't get that. What tech is needed for a drop in? Knowing where a pharmacy is? Ask someone if unable to look that up.

If those making decisions care about having people live, i suspect there will be a shift to online schooling soon. Some schools have already done that.

I think it should stay in place, with allowing exceptions for certain special needs programs until either we get the majority of 5+ kids vaccinated (even 1 dose in kids would likely make a pretty big impact as they don't have elderly immune systems) or the hospitals are able to deal with the number of covid patients easily.

Could infecting another person with COVID-19 lead to criminal or civil litigation?

Would very much like to see successful examples. I think the UCP government has also been negligent on a large scale. If I get infected within a healthcare setting it's something to consider, have been saying so before I even heard about the Earls case, never did he8where that went. My best guess is private settlement.

Part of the system I hadn't thought of recently that is overwhelmed- Stars Air Ambulance.

Remember early in when we told people not to go out to cottages? Dear unvaccinated people don't go to cottages., the mountains, camping etc. Rural people FFS get vaccinated.

If one goes to a Covid party, one cannot say one didn’t know the intent. If the person gets infected and doesn’t isolate, there is already a fine for that.

Election in Germany today. Even people refusing to wear a mask have to be accommodated to be able to vote, by closing the place for the public, so that the person is on their own, disinfecting and airing out the place before letting people back in. There is the option to refuse the voting if that is technically not possible. Masks are available. Some places also have “ mobile urns” to carry them outside for an unmasked person to vote.
Not sure what I think of that. After all, people could have voted by mail, the rules were known. This seems to give too much accommodation to right wing antivaxxers.

Are humans well advised on waste ... thus theories on the wasteland ... and the garbage we need to wade through!

Thus life is disposable by powerfully penetrating medium ... and thots can take off ... leaving some volk Thor leagues disposed! Thus deep intuit ...

May be mental drift ... come in from out there! Anon ... will arrive in due time ... however many of the mob are not sentient of the facts!

As Sapi ... they just go with the flow ... thus sapience vs sentient behavior constructs ... said by some to be a boner ... or other mistaken item of interst ... just for curiosity's ache ...

Can a world gone a' roué over irrational exuberance be bought back on a course of rational? Out of this world learning as one looks back across the vale ... abysmal separation!

Does anyone understand civilized culture as socialization? Maybe it is all just antisocialism ... by the red in face ... from the neck up ... bloody histrionics ... related to histology ... another etude ... boiling down to self examination! Accounts for red and white rushes in the fooling about ... forming auras!

Humanity is weird ... act eccentric so as to fit in and drift off enough to look back on a temporal basis ... said to be a mindful process that's sloe and creepy ... like Christine that car ... the autonomous love/hate resonance?

The intellect we have urn's unconsciously is in the Kahn ... a dark spot ... smear of humanity read through those botch tests ... Rorschach!

Those words ring true to me. I recall cancelling an important medical appointment as I was responsible for my son when he was released from hospital following a brain injury. I was unable to find someone to come out to the farm to keep him company. I couldn't take him with me as he was very unpredictable. What to do?? Stay home!
