FYI, if you are letting any friends, adult children, etc. use your NF password, they may soon have to pony up for their own. First heard about it on Idle Chatter, another board I frequent, but the story from the National Post just popped in a newsfeed.

I don't totally understand what's going to happen with this. If Chemguy is out of town, I should still be able to use netflix even if he's busy.

Yeah, I pointed that out in the discussion on the other board. I have never actually used my NF on the road, but have the app on my phone so certainly could.

It depends on how they track it. If they just use IP, then this is a real issue. If they also track some kind of device identifier, then it may not be a concern.

He has certainly used it when staying in hotels, as have I. Other things to consider too - like hospital stays.

We just watched Ladies in Black. It's an Australian movie that centres around a teenaged girl who gets a job in a women's department in a department store. It was quite good.

We are watching the Vikings! Lots of blood and gore to view before bed!!

When we watched Handmaid's Tale we had to have a Schitt's Creek cleanse before bed. :)

We just watched the first episode of Ginny and Georgia. I quite liked it. A strong woman show. There's an actor from Schitt's Creek in it. You'll have to watch and see if you can guess which person it is.

I was just reading that the next season (might be the last?) is going to include Vinland, the Viking colony in Newfoundland. The Beothucks (the indigenous people they met) have been extinct since 1829, so they are going to use Mikmaq as the language for the indigenous scenes. It is believed to be the closest existing language to the Beothuck's language since both are Algonquian languages from the East Coast. Two Mikmaq (a couple) from Nova Scotia trained the cast.

We've been watching a couple of shows that are on Acorn. One is Doc Martin. It's about a surgeon who can't do surgery anymore because of his blood phobia. He goes to a small community in Cornwall to be their GP. He has few social skills and is arrogant as hell. It's a funny show with fabulous scenery.

The other show is A Place to Call Home about a nurse who returns to Australia after the war. She moves to a small community to practice. There's a very rich powerful family with secrets. The nurse has secrets. It's very well done.

Just watched the movie "The Bright Side".....quite good, loosely based on a true story about an unlikely candidate,( who is a convict just let out of prison,) who was hired to look after a quadraplegic rich man. Lots of humour and touching at the same time.
Highly recommend it.

"The Last Days". The last targeted Jewish group was in Hungary. Depressing/inspiring. I am currently very conflicted about the Middle East situation, frankly, blaming the State of Israel, but hugely sympathetic to the need for a Jewish state, as a result of the horror demonstrated by this documentary.

More casting and production news for the Netflix series based on Neil Gaiman's Sandman. This is a story that has so much potential to go right or go awry. It gets into some seriously weird territory, but also some very serious topics. Gaiman is personally involved (though less so than with the recent adaptation of the novel Good Omens, where Gaiman was showrunner and sole writer) which is a good start. And the casting has been impressive so far. From this, it looks like Preludes and Nocturnes, the first graphic novel, is probably finished shooting at least and they are moving on to Doll's House, the second.

Casting Desire with a non-binary actor alone has to be a stroke of brilliance.
