BIDEN - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Can irrational leads carry on past insanity?

Like that lead to the ocean in NFLD they labelled Dildo ... and thus humans screw themselves with their word creation ... poor ... no graphic?

If the word is going to kill yah ... have a giggle at the proposition ... like insane sects!

Respond with: "God did it" that's the word!

After that all believers will feel stirred!

I am indeed.

In an interesting aside, my baby sister is acquainted with Margaret's sister, Ruth. Not quite as prickly as her, I understand, lol. (I love Margaret's prickliness; I once heard her, in an interview with George Strombo, in response to his "Oh, Margaret, you are bad sometimes", reply, "Oh, no, George, very occasionally I'm good".)

My general sense is that he is in for some serious writer's cramp in his first few days given how many of those he is going to have to sign. The question is, is this a permanent redirect or will things shift again in 2025? The GOP seems to finally be shying away from Trump, but that does not mean they will nominate a relative moderate in 2024.
I agree, the way the country is divided right now, its bound to keep happening now that both parties have learned how to work their biases onto the American people. Its why they need some more young blood that has more respect for progress and innovation for the country rather than continue this ungodly set pattern that has been embedded into the American system that started out being innovative once upon a time, but has become corrupt. IMO

So what do folks here think about Biden pulling the plug on Keystone XL, which is apparently on his docket for Thursday?

Jason Kenney and Erin O'Toole are unhappy (unsurprisingly)

Jagmeet Singh and Annamie Paul are like, "Go Joe!" (also unsurprisingly)

No word from the feds yet. (Ditto)

I have mixed feelings. This likely means oil being shipped South by train, which is less safe than a pipeline. And it is unlikely to deter Alberta from its bloody-minded determination to keep its economy based on oil. Still, it is likely a sign that Biden will have a different approach to the environment than Trump.

I think Trudeau supports it unless he's changed his mind. I remember that he mentioned that he did support it prior to his election.
I wonder if this would have been brownie points for him in Alberta.

I think Trudeau said he supports it to try to get support out West, to be honest. His real feelings are in doubt in my book.

I think it's a good idea and I also think that building electric delivery vans and trucks in Oshawa, St. Catherines and Ingersol Ontario in an already existing factory is great!

The revival of CAMI is definitely a good thing for this area. I have had a number of co-workers over the years whose partners work(ed) there.

Go Joe! First out trans nominee. I suspect certain Republicans will try to scuttle this but her credentials are pretty solid.

Because we're emerging from a long period when the only two acceptable credentials for governance were white and male. As far as I'm considered, if you can tick off extra boxes, you've gained credibility with a larger portion of the population than otherwise.

I think that's what Mendalla may have roughly thought when typing "Go Joe". I suspect you will find something disagreeable about something in this post.

Precisely. The previous regime would not even have acknowledged her trans status, let alone nominated her for a senior role.

So tomorrow the USA starts anew beginning. As a result of the behavior of the old regime, Biden is taking a private plane to Washington. Trump not providing a military plane. The petulance of baby Trump is never ending

i am looking forward to civility. Will I personally like the policies. Doubtful. But the sudden arrival of civility is a welcome balm to the soul

americans are generally nice people. Those I meet are nice. But over the last four years many Americans have resorted to their baser rudeness and it is appalling. Politeness doesn’t solve the problems of the world. But it helps move the discussion along

so , for the first time ever, I will watch the inauguration. I feel I have to witness the end of this era. And I will watch the virtual parade and celebrations. And be glad we have an adult in the White House again

The previous regime

The US empire has two faces ...

Just like any other two-faced monstrosity, the face you will see depends on where you are standing.

The empire needs both faces.

Without the murder face, it could not exist as an empire.

Without the grinning face, the public would never consent to the murder face.

People who inhabit the hub of a murderous empire are historically unaware of its horrific nature.

In the old days that was because information was easy to restrict access to.

Today it’s because information is easy to manipulate and distort.

That’s the only difference between this murderous empire and those of old.

The US empire is a serial killer with a horrifying grin stretched over its blood-spattered face.

I suspect you will find something disagreeable about something in this post.
A smiley faced psychopath babbling about civil rights and the importance of inclusive language while chopping a Yemeni child to pieces ...

Once you’ve seen it, you can never see the smiling nice guy again.

Reuben essence .. it comes out at awkward times ... as crossing the mystical Rubicon ... few grasp the mystery!

This. Precisely this. I have never personally met an American I didn't like and some of my favorite places to visit are in that country. While I do not believe the last 4 years where just a "blip", the divisions and rancour down there are quite real, I do think Trump himself is a bit of an outlier. The real danger is that the next extreme right president may be polite and personable and therefore get a "by" from some middle of the road types who worry more about behaviour than policies.
