Covid 19 Vaccine

If I qualified, I'd like to get (a) vaccine sooner rather than later. I think I'll be in a sooner group, because I work in a grocery store. I think I would prefer not the Pfizer vaccine, as I have a lot of allergies, but I've had pretty regular flu shots with no adverse reaction.
I have not experienced any adverse reaction to never getting a flu shot. Ever.

Life appears to be an experiment ... thus we are cursed by a mystery!

What is a mystery? By gods does anyone know an eternal answer? Nothing will carry that far ... know where's ...

We just can't put a finger on nowhere ... because it appears as isn't (an old definition of incarnate).

Trump also appears in this manner ... not as some expected ... and yet others have yet to become cognizant of such facts!

The emperor does try and overrun democratic processes of the demos ... just as an other life experiment ... why? because he could!

Tis a multifaceted consideration ... far from one-way! Like the unknown god from one mortal perspective! God! its a tough word ...

I'm cautiously optimistic about this vaccine. I was concerned about the speed at which it was developed then learned the research for this type of vaccine has been happening for some time.

Due to our pragmatic and judicious use of lockdown Oz is at present enjoying an almost normal holiday period. We are very fortunate we can take more time when it comes to the vaccines as a result. it's so wonderful to see all our states and New Zealand borders opened up. There have been many wonderful family reunions......

Just heard that our Oz government has decided not to go ahead with the vaccine we were developing........Seems it had some false positives to hiv? A pity, as much was spent on it -and apparently it was successful for coronavirus - but it was deemed not to go ahead as there is already suspicion of vaccines in the community - and the controversy wouldn't be helpful......

Thankfully, there are other vaccines.......

That's nice, dear.

My reason to get a yearly flu shot was because, prior to doing so, I'd get flu most years (I worked in a college; lots of infection opportunities), and it would then end up in bronchitis or similar, and I'd spend weeks hacking up a lung, taking antibiotics, inhaled steroids, etc. I have terrible allergies, and I'm prone to asthma. Since I starting getting a yearly flu shot, no flu, no bronchitis. A happier, healthier Bette.

Nothing to it ... getting nothing ... my grandfather once said nothing was outlandish ... OBI or Oh Boies? ... from out there!

Get beyond thyself folk! Some say get over Ide ...

Then if the POTUS states that the SCOTUS has no wisdom or courage ... what does that subtly say about the CEO? Disjointed misinformation?

The position is smoke'n ... a deux of a situation ... to be encircled about what's beyond us! Like a wagging train ...

But we have no idea what assumptions or research went into that algorithm. For all we know, the "somebody" who created it pulled numbers out of their ass.
of course - I think it's just a 'fun thing of interest' not a scientific tool. Doesn't really change that it's gonna take a while to get to everyone who may want a vaccine.

I had to laugh, as there was a top story showing about the vaccine and allergies and the first line is:
Health Canada is warning individuals with allergies to any of the ingredients in Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to not receive the shot.

So ... the same advice we put out for any drug.

I always get a kick out of those warnings. How do we know we have an allergy if we haven't had the drug before?

I guess that the thing is that the ingredients likely to cause a reaction are largely to the "non-medicinal ingredients", like preservatives, eggs for some reason, (I guess that's the medium where the virus is cultivated for some vaccines), etc., than the actual viral/retroviral "active" component. So plenty of people probably know which of these non-medicinal ingredients they're sensitive to.

Yeah, I understand putting that on there. This was listed as a top news story though as to what Health Canada was doing because of the reactions in the UK. Basically nothing different than if those reactions hadn't have happened.

My sister’s operation scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled. There are no beds on the intensive care unit because of covid patients. They rescheduled for Wednesday morning, but I am worried that might not happen either. After all, Covid patients usually stay at least 14 days in ICU. Nerve-racking also the thought that she would one of the fews in there that do not have Covid.
My sister’s carotic artery is 80% blocked, which will need to be cleaned out otherwise she is at great risk of having a stroke. I don’t want to translate here what she wrote to me what she thinks about people calling Covid a hoax and going to anti mask demonstrations.

That's hard Mrs.A. Waiting sucks, especially for such an important procedure. Fingers crossed that Wed will be better.

Gosh, I hope a bed comes available soon

listened to an inter3ting discussion today about the new vaccine

testing showed it decreased illness severity. By a ton. So good news. But it doesn’t necessarily stop you from getting the virus or passing it on. Further studies need to be done to see if it makes the virus load so low that you don’t pass it on. But until then, need for continuing mask protocols until 70-80% of population vaccinated

cbc has a colour map of Ontario ( expect other provinces have the same map. Shows that naturally most disease and issues are in and around the big cities. My country is happily yellow. It you can see that most of the province has little issue out of the Golden Horseshoe and down to Windsor

Are there other hospitals she can be referred to?
Thats a hard choice....risk Covid or risk a stroke.

Nope, she is in the same boat as many other people who have scheduled OPs for all kinds of conditions. They even closed the ERs in my family’s neighbourhood because they cannot take anymore patients. Anybody having a heart attack- they will be shipping him to some hospital in the outskirts of Berlin. And Germany is the country with the most ICU beds per population. The problem it is facing now is not just ICU beds but staffing.
If you remember from the first wave in Italy, the nurses who were reporting that despite having Covid, they had to come to work if they didn’t have serious symptoms. I don’t think Germany is doing that, but maybe they are at the brink of having to do that.
