He didn't even mention a Dem VP did he? Did you trick me into watching? If he did mention it, I must've skimmed over that part.
The commentary was terribly racist as well. The Smollett comment, horrendous.

Did you not think that this person could pontificate like the bird he flocks with ... a non thinker? This could be illusion appearing as something else ... something that just isn't there ... and it incarnated to prove how nothing can pop into existence! You can bridge in if you wish with a cry of Geronimo and charge ... all for the sake of nothing ... more soliloquy?

This what develops when one stands all alone ... illusion by another name to support the metaphor ... virtual mystery ...

My suspicion is that he gets lots of tricks down his pants, but not that sort of trick.
I know. I was being punny! :) Tricks down is pants was wittier than tricks up his sleeve - though he might still try to pull one from his sleeve. He'll leave his pants alone for awhile, I'm guessing. Lol. Especially with young "journalists".

Honestly I find that running hair dye and flies on heads making news out of proportion is a sad sign of the trend of superficial judgement versus understanding of true democratic debate.
I think you're just saying that to be a fly in the ointment;) Both incidents were distracting, and the "debate" from the Trump/ Pence side has been truly ridiculous for awhile - with Qanon and Trump's tantrums and chronic lies and misinformation pushing their agenda, there was no real debate. We've made all the intellectual judgments already. There were never many difficult ones to make. Have a laugh when we can, I say. It's good for health.

Listening to a program on failure of our system towards Lyme Disease ... the expression "cult of denial" came up ...

Could a cult of denial be possible in a world leaning towards the extreme positive?

Sort of indicated a hole preparation ... or whatever else we're in given the displacement of the belief in cynicism! The list of metaphors for cynical mindset is extensive ... including sarcasm, etc.

How could the common demos be so sarcastic about being scrooged ... it is the right of the elite ... right!

Funny to hear that from someone who probably has been laughed at over visual physical mishaps in the past.

That was uncalled for. That was an assumption based on my disability. You went pretty low.

I'm not the corrupt leader of a powerful country or one of his corrupt emissaries. I'm not an emperor who's had no clothes on for some time.

Apparently because I'm disabled it's particularly unbecoming of me specifically to make fun of Team Trump's blunders. According to an able bodied person. That's a worse thing to say than laughing if I tripped over my feet. You singled me out when everyone, even you, has made fun of Trump and his team.

Gotta throw down with Kimmio here. I don't see how her disability and whether she was bullied over it has anything to do with her, or anyone else, cracking wise about the fiasco South of the border or the twit in the White House. As far as I am concerned, Trump and Pence are fair game given their frequent and often nasty targeting of others.

My theory is that humour is important for tension reduction in the face of such fear and uncertainty. It bonds us and relieves our anxieties by laughing. Making fun of politicians is a time-honoured way of bringing these larger than life figures down to human scale, instead of big and scary.
