By all accounts he can try to barricade himself in his office as an attempt to stay. As of noon on that day in January he will be evicted. Trespassing charges can be laid. Apparently there are people discussing this and making strategies on how to respond to the different possible scenarios

That's more what I was thinking. Except, of course, your family won't be in the EU anymore come January 1 (speaking of political insanity).
 
Well, yeah, I meant the general area, geographically. One of the things that prevents me from thinking hard about the U.K. is how very far it is from our west coast, where itinerant artist son lives.

My ex-sister-in-law usually winters at a property they own in Mexico. There's lots of good places, but you need to know what you're doing.

One of the women from the UU fellowship was doing that, too, I remember. Lost touch with her when I left the church and Facebook so not sure if she's still got the place or not. I assume COVID has thrown a wrench in things, too.
 
Of course we all would like a smooth transition if it comes to that. But something evil within myself would like to see him "escorted" (frog marched) as the trespasser he is, off White House property by security.

Never. You are, however, in this case, misguided, I think. That sort of attention feeds a narcissist. If you want to make him completely crazy, you ignore him; pretend he never existed, don't even notice when he slinks away with his tail between his legs. Remove the number 45 from your lexicon.
 
I have this odd theory that he might eventually progress to the "packs up his toys and goes home" stage of a juvenile temper tantrum. Not resign, just move to Trump Tower or Mar El Lago and ignore the country. Basically leave the country leaderless until Biden takes power on January 20. Might be an improvement but it would also leave Pence kind of hanging. He is nominally in charge but the President has not actually resigned or been incapacitated so he lacks the actual authority to do anything. Main issue would be no one to sign any bills passed by the new Congress (e.g. a new stimulus plan) into law, but there may be others.

Haha, I can picture Biden just move in with a second desk chair sitting in the Oval office....
 
I still think that 45's official White House portrait should be hand-drawn with a Sharpie and coloured in with crayons.
