Correct me if I am wrong ... did not the Democrats spend the last 4 years trying to
deploy every legal means to unseat
Trump.

Same old same old ... let the bread and circuses games continue. Entertainment to keep the masses distracted as the power ball bounces on.

Let Trump file his legal complaints. So far, just about everything he's filed has been dismissed by the courts. About all he's accomplished is to have some observers who were kept 10 feet away now allowed to be 6 feet away.

Did they? How so?

More to the point, on his podcast he called for Fauci to be beheaded and his head posted on a stake outside the White House. There was someone else on the hit list, too. While it was pretty clearly hyperbole, an investigation for uttering threats would not be out order, if only to create a disincentive for future rants of a brutally medieval nature. That's the sort of thing modern republics were supposed to be against.
They couldn't risk some disturbed person(s) taking him seriously.

I thought he made hyperbolic comments about Trump as well. I could be wrong.

It looks like Trumps regular Twitter account lost it's certified check mark and the tweets aren't there, but the Potus account is still there, and the last tweet was him announcing his s**t show of a news conference the other night.

My question is, his desperate lies - were they not illegal attempts to subvert democracy? And as in impeached president in his lame duck period - does he have to still Occupy the WH legally under the circumstances? How much power does he still have given the situation?

He is still President until January 20 and can remain in the White House but, yeah, he is a lame duck now. He could probably do some damage out of spite but it would likely be stuff that Biden could easily undo like executive orders that can be countermanded by other executive orders. Worst case would be an international or domestic crisis of some kind that he would be in charge of until Biden takes over. I mean a new one, not COVID. That's already a dumpster fire of the highest order.

But the tweets in the past few days - is that not a big legal issue? That was beyond undemocratic. It was a bold faced and desperate attempt to subvert the election - it was plainly dictatorial. There must be some clause. He was already impeached once.

Can't prosecute a sitting president save through the impeachment process. But after January 20, all bets are off.

Of course, it would be nice if Trump moved out about 3 days earlier, so the White House could be cleaned and sanitized. Seems about every second person who walks in there has, or has had, Covid.

As I said, it wouldn't shock me to see him just bugger off to Mar a Lago or Trump Tower at some point, esp. once all his legal actions fizzle. At that point, the cleaning staff can get to work to "keep it ready for his return".
