TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Exactly where did you get that from what I've said? Did I previously say that? I think we should have a lot of opinions about colonization, and the denial of a two state solution in Palestine, THANKS TO THE U.S.
That quote of yours is from my thread Human Rights Watch Report :3

Who knows what is going 2 happen? If certain Arab countries can do what is happening now, oh boy, what other positive sum games are possible?

I even heard the AiC Orange Smurf say on CBC that he is willing to do deals with Palestine and Iran :3

The world is changing.

Trump is back explaining that California needs to rake its forests to stop fires

spoken by a man who has never actually been in a forest I guess

Lol quite the image
There once was a time in USA when it was SOP to STOP ALL FOREST FIRES. That unforunately led to more forest fires. Now the USA knows better and has things like controlled burns and clearing of detritus and dead trees etc in USA forests.

So I think sombunall of media is reacting to this like sombunall of them thot the AiC was advocating injection of draino in our bodies? Lol
Kayfabe all the way

I like his theory of exploding trees, which he came up with yesterday.

They can happen with fires. And lightning.
Here a film where you get to see a local fierce fire. There is an exploding tree ~1:46

So yes and no and it depends on what one means by explode and maybe (in the case of eucalyptus and the vid in the article) and anecdotal

Ty again for showing us how quantum mechanical reality really is, despite any of our various tribes' attempts at nailing down realityz jell-o

The stuff we don't know in non recognizant! Behaves like an Eire or a thin space of psyche ... transparent to those that wish not to observe IT!

When talking about Trump's policies, personality can't be avoided. They're inseparable. @Ritafee it's worth watching.

Also, in other policy news he announced tens of billions of dollars to rebuild Peurto Rico, after he'd vetoed congress approved aid to them after hurricane - after they'd suffered a devastating hurricane, their power grid was knocked out for months - and after he was so magmanamous as to toss paper towels out to the people. But, it's election time and he needs Latinos to vote for him. Maybe they'll see through it.

Something that really struck me this week came up in news coverage of the owners of an American company with an warehouse in Brampton

the wealthy owners flew up on a private jet and were give free clearance to visit the office and hold meetings for two days without quarantine

so firstly was the issue of who gave them permission. Then later Blair said no one did, it was just the border customs people who said it was ok

that seems very unlikely to me but who knows. We certqinly never will

it what really struck me was the paper said this couple are the number one donors to Trump and so far they have donated $500 million dollars to his re-election campaign

that. Is honestly disgusting. No wonder the USA elections are such a s**t storm. Too many rich people on all sides donating waaaaaay too much money

and just think what could be done with that money for a better cause. Child hunger, housing, poverty, cancer, education.......

It doesn't surprise me that they could buy such a favour. Does it really surprise you? Billionaires can buy anything. They live by different rules than everybody else. Billionaires, also, travel on private jets and rarely even need to show their passports.

There are only a dozen or two (I forgot the exact number but it's very small) who collectively own as much wealth as the bottom half of the entire world. Money they couldn't possibly spend on themselves in several lifetimes. If they gave most of it away they could still have luxurious lives and plenty to give their heirs. They could've ended poverty and found a cure for cancer yesterday. Years ago. But most of them are just interested in their own wealth for its own sake..

Here's a feeling thought ... what does the power of moni corrupt? Could it be how gospel (truth) is dispersed? What wealth do chrurches hold as sacred (hidden wisdom)? Do they know such things or is it unconscious to Em?

Who built the trade isolation wall; Mexico, Canada, or wealthy people looking for isolated cheap labour sources ... off sure? Donald Trump, forest ranger.
He's probably being desperately reined in by his handlers to keep him from bragging how US trees explode WAAAY bigger than the those other country's exploding trees. "Mr. President, US trees only explode small-ly".

'But we have the BEST exploding trees! No other country, not even Nambia, has trees that explode like ours! Many people are saying we could use our trees as weapons! etc. etc. etc.'

The visions of people raking leaves in the mountains of California is bigly funny
and you know, when I have been in Europe in the summer I am amazed how everyone who lives there has a rake and is in the Alps raking. The mountains are so clean of leaves. The compost heaps then turn into new mountains

What saddens me is that the increasing wildfires invite two shifts in policy and ideas, neither of which are happening. The first is a wake-up call to the reality of climate change. The second is that indigenous people have managed this continent's forests for millennia; why are we not begging them to share their wisdom with us?

I don’t think indigenous people managed forests. They were a small number of people living in a huge territory.

we Started the problem around the turn of the century ourselves

in the past people for the most part did not live in wilderness areas, too hard , too remote....... and fires were seasonal things. Lightning strikes start most fires and they burn and then burn out. If you look on line you can find photos showing areas from a hundred years ago compared to now. The contrast is startling.
then around a century ago more and more people moved into the wilderness areas. Towns got built at edges of wilderness areas. People loved the trees

but that meant forest fires still came and needed to be fought to protect homes and people

so they were fought. Forests are now much thicker, less natural breaks from old fires and so fires spread easily and fast. And endanger people who are living close to fire areas. So we fight fires and the cycle continues

the old method of dealing with fires was to monitor them and cut tree breaks if necessary to stop them. now We try to control them

it is similar when we think of spring floods along rivers. People didn’t used to live along river banks because they knew they flooded. Towns were built up hill sides with warehouses along river edges

but then people wanted to be along rivers, boats, views, privacy........ but rivers flood every spring thaw. And houses flood and insurance pays out and people get rescued........

some cities are becoming smarter and not allowing construction in flood plains. In Toronto after a hurricane wiped out all the houses along the Humber river the entire river flood plain was turned into one of the cities great ravine parks. It still floods as the ice breaks up but now it doesn’t do any damage
Calgary has also done that with part of the Bow river i believe

ultimately we will also need to see rules about living in forest areas. So we can once again let wildfires burn, let nature naturally regenerate

They were a small number of people living in a huge territory.

There were millions of people living in a large number of widely varying cultures. Forests have been burning as a way of regenerating themselves since they began. Indigenous people knew where NOT to live, and how to manage these burns to minimize negative impact on "all our relations".

I saw the article and beelined to the comments section. I find a huge part of the story is there. Ninety percent (90%)! of Canadians want the border to remain closed just like it is for a)til the end of the year, b)until there's a vaccine, c) until Trump is out of office, or d) not in the forseeable future. Something has unfortunately touched a nerve with Canadians and it doesn't seem to be just about Covid anymore.
From the comments section of the article:
"The 2 things Canadians want closed it the U,S. Border and Trump’s mouth"

I guess when I said small number I was referring to not the 400,000,000 that now live in north american

but yes I agree, our need to live in the wilderness has caused a lot of these issues

we fight forest fires. My daughter with her masters in forest conservation Just cringes. A forest fire is a natural part of a forest life. And now in North American with all the Asian pine beetles killing the pine trees in swaths they burn like kindling

if people would just stop living in the beautiful California hills and along flood prone rivers, and low lying areas in general

i listened to a sherif in one of the last hurricane hit areas of Florida or alabama or ..... and he was very clear. Leave now. We won’t rescue you. I won’t put my staff at risk to rescue you because you are too stupid to leave.

We need more of that
