Any recommendations for an IT security guy with 12 years experience who wants to relocate to roughly 30 mins from Vancouver? I'm not familiar enough with the area to tell my friend the best place to look. Thanks

What I just enjoy seeing so much is the same sort of thing one sees in England; what vegetation looks like/grows like when it doesn't freeze hard for months, unlike in most of the rest of Canada.

Sometimes I feel a bit torn between moving to England (my favourite cuz is very keen on this idea), and moving out to BC to be closer to my son (and probably ultimately my daughter and her guy, who find mountains appealing), but so much farther away from England, then.

I'm sure I'll end up staying here. I'm not much of a mover...

LAST, as I go to enjoy a dinner of daal and chicken in butter sauce, just delivered by dear church friends, who sense my lack of eating skills these days..

Oh my gosh.......the leaves are starting to turn yellow on three trees in my neighbourhood! Glorious autumn is in the beginning stages. Anyone else?

A little bit. I was reading earlier...Bonnie Henry said people ought to start thinking about how we’ll manage with covid restrictions as the weather changes. We’ve had mostly nice weather since April/ May (spring started out rainy but it’s been mostly nice here for months) so I guess we can’t complain too much out here. It’s been a perfect summer, weather wise. We’ve been blessed this summer. Warm, rainy just when we need it, mostly overnights which is perfect. Only a couple of uncomfortably hot days. The first half of September looks like it’ll be hotter than usual, though....summer weather. Not sure about the last half.)

(I looked it up. Second weeks of Sept low 14, highs 21-22 degrees. We’re predicted to have warm days up to 18 in the first week of Oct. then dips to 13, then 10-11...dips to 6-7 in second week of November. Stays that way until January - historical average for December is 2 degrees on most of the predicted 6,7-8 degree days. That looks like a warming trend. Unless the weather changes its mind.)

2014 is done! Also in late 2013, I started posting to Facebook so have to update those links too...FB just kicked me out (temporarily) for "spamming" even though I am not posting anything new and am merely editing existing posts :P Also, it seems FB has deleted more of my posts than I realized :( Good thing that isn't my main platform

Yeah, Facebook is somewhat wonky. They tried a while back to delete a post of mine they thought 'untrue', even though it was. After I enlightened them concerning what I thought of their deletion (in my own, sweet, charming, fire-breathing way), the post reappeared. They tried to blame something called algorithem. (Yeah, suuurrrrree...)

I'm impressed! I still haven't gotten them to acknowledge me and the posts they deleted before

Despite my addiction to FB games, and my obsessive political posting at times, I don't think I've ever had an argument with them...just lucky, I'm sure.

Right now I'm trying to find a more-or-less polite way to tell them their latest 'improvements' have not improved a blessed thing.

I just keep telling them that I hate it, and that there's too much white space, and understand that I will cope with it on Sept 1.

Admit it FB is as insane as the people that post there ... and we all suffer by relationship --- Einstein on the matter of all things being related ... even if non-material! That's almost ethereal ... and some scientists even say ether does not exist and thus an Idealized Gas lighting!

It is however a Moos'n ... and mit-E as a shadow dashing along the wall ... a dashing d' andy'r OI'd? within context of hypnotic trance ... Joe's dreams with fireworks ... heaven explodes!

Sigh, and now I have to deal with Bell...their wireless internet hub - which is supposed to be so good - always dies right after the year warranty is up and I have to pay for the full 2 yr contract + the penalty of getting a new hub before the contract is up :P This is the third time in 3 years that the hub hasn't LASTed :P need to find another option but don't know what as most available here in rural AB are too pricey
