This article says the Danish health authorities are dropping their opposition to face masks:
https://www.thelocal.dk/20200709/danish-health-agency-recommends-face-masks

A good example of how successful Social Engineering can be.

" Now recommends using masks in certain situations, such as prolonged or frequent close face-to-face contacts with customers/clients etc", if the amount of infection in society is high. "

"You might also consider using a mouth or face mask if you are a person at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and cannot avoid situations where you get very close to others, for example, if you have to take public transport during rush hour," it says.

And now who is being selfish?
It won’t effect me, necessarily, though it could by then. There are tens of thousands to consider just in BC, who can’t work at all - don’t have any extended health through work or extra income to pay for disability related needs - who could lose their necessary extended healthcare and transportation and other services that are tied to their provincial disability, if they just close files and make everybody apply for one size fits all payment that doesn’t fit all needs - and navigate a new process without their specified needs looked at. Instead of those needs covered, they’d get a few hundred bucks extra. That’s a cost savings cut from the bottom. That’s what I fear. That needs to be considered. In the 90s, there was a high number of suicides in BC when disability files were arbitrarily closed en masse and people were left to navigate a new bunch of policies, and reapply. But now there’s MAID.

Yet it has been demonstrated that when numbers go down for COVID, the restrictions are lifted in hopes of things returning to normal.....not a continued state.
Not sure how you equate isolation to protect vulnerable members of society as being detrimental when most would prefer their elderly and compromised were kept safe?
This is normal now. Isolation ... a well practiced and proven form of torture when enforced ... imposed on our elderly without their consent ... in the name of keeping them safe. And I am suffering from cognitive dissonance?

Poetry Pause: “Boiling the Frog; It’s Just A Mask” by Forrest Maready

It’s just a mask.
It’s just two weeks.
It’s just non-essential businesses.
It’s just to keep from overwhelming the hospitals.
It’s just until cases go down more.
It’s just to keep others from being scared.
It’s just for a few more weeks.
It’s just communion or singing. You can still meet.
It’s just until we get a vaccine.
It’s just a few side effects.
It’s just a bracelet.
It’s just to let people know you’re safe to be around.
It’s just an app.
It’s just to let others know who you’ve been in contact with.
It’s just a few more months.
It’s just a video.
It’s just an email account.
It’s just for protecting others from hate speech.
It’s just a few people.
It’s just a credit card company. You can use cash.
It’s just a few places that don’t take cash.
It’s just a little chip.
It’s just for medical information and paying for things.
It’s just so you can travel.
It’s just so you can get your driver’s license.
It’s just so you can vote.
It’s just for a few more years.
It’s just a statue.
It’s just a building.
It’s just a song.
It’s just a few words.
It’s just a piece of paper.
It’s just a book.
It’s just a movie.
It’s just a flag.
It’s just a piece of cloth.
It’s just a blood test.
It’s just a scan.
It’s just a chip.
It’s just a dog.
It’s just a clump of cells.
It’s just the bad people.
It’s just the undesirables.
It’s just the Jews.
It’s just the men.
It’s just the Christians.
It’s just the people that don’t think like we do.
It’s just… wait…
It’s not just a mask.

Nursing homes need to improve care, that’s been exposed, and they are now considering the negative impact that no visitors to the elderly has, and changing some things to make more visitors possible. At least in some places that’s changing.

Wearing A Mask.jpg
That is my Grandson. He wears a mask. He is a caring consumer. He cares about runners enough to wear a mask. I love my Grandson. He is a good person. I wish he was not such an avid consumer ...

Those are pretty cool shoes. I don’t blame him. Are they Vans? I found some Vans, nearly new (not with Simpsons on them) at a thrift store. Some soap and water to wipe them down, sneaker refresher, and put my insoles in, and they’re new. I go through shoes fast because of scraping my toes, and need supportive shoes like runners. I also like fashion - my own style - and I think that’s okay if it doesn’t cost much money. My consumerism is recycled - profits are not going to the bigwigs - and costs a fraction of what new things cost.

And good that he wears a mask when shopping.

Nursing homes would be the perfect place to install a bunch of those "God pods"...
What's God got to do with it?

Doubts about these products are moot; the market has spoken. Under the Weather's pods are now carried by Walmart and Dick's Sporting Goods, in addition to on UTW's website. If you haven't seen these in person yet, I'd say it's just a matter of time.

I hope we can all admit that not a lot is know about this virus. And medical people have gotten better at treating people who are ill. And so world wide we are seeing death rates decrease

to me, that is good news. Does it mean masks are not necessary? Does it mean social distancing isn’t necessary. I don’t ink we know enough to know that. People, ordinary people and medical people give opinions. And they contradict at we have seen

but my opinion is we should err on the side of caution. It isn’t hurting us to be cautious. To be careful. To wear masks when we are close to others to protect ourselves and others

will A basic surgical mask help? Anecdotally It seems to have helped curb the spread in Asia. Is that because the Y are more obedient than us?l likely

but what can it hurt

that is what I don’t understand. People like Rita feel that their rights are infringed. But dose it hurt those people. Peripheral in general. It sure doesn’t feel like it. It feels like an argument for arguments sake

Let's not forget that COVID isn't the only reason nursing homes and retirement homes quarantine their residents, whole sections and sometimes whole facilities are closed due to virus' such as Influenzas, Norwalk, , Pneumonias, etc....
And to be honest, there's not a whole lot of visitors for the elderly even during "healthy times". Of course there's always the usual dedicated families, but trust me, they're few and far between. Most of the elderly develop some sort of relationship with their caregivers, so even during quarantines, it's much the same people they continue to see.....although meal times together are stopped for those affected along with group activities. But even activities offered are not always well attended. During outbreaks it's not a good idea to allow visitors.
