Some coffee and tea would go nice with that heavy reading, maybe. (I've got a copy of that book. It's heavy. I hope to star reading it this weekend.)

I find my enjoyment of Saturdays undiminished with retirement. Not sure why.

No heavy reading for me before coffee though. Thanks.

I have seen his and Mary Trumps book at Costco, same price but Mary’s half the size. Seriously thought about buying one of them, but then thought it might me really bad for my mental health to read this. Hope to hear details on WC though.

Could be a satyr or hairy donkey ... burro 'nin?

Hair and strings ... bind the bricks together ...

Good morning! Thunderstorms here at the moment, dark and dreary. A good day to sit comfortably with a cup of tea or coffee, and watch it from inside. The tea and coffee and etc. is provided, help yourself.

We have heat alerts, so closed up all the windows, but, it is raining.
Thankful for the rain this morning. It is gentle and will give the plants a little slurp.

Bit of a panic, as realized that the church service was set for 10:30pm so reminder emails haven't gone out.
Now, what is odd was that it was caught, and fixed, but, it didn't change the series. pain in the neck.

** confirmation received that emails were sent out and received after adjustment. All future sessions verified at 10:30am start, and...upped the quality of the email by adding the link for social time to it. Now to mellow for 15min.

Good morning all! It's Sunday again. I went out for a walk with my nordic poles this morning - great wind was blowing so that kept me a bit cooler. I also took along my pocket-sized garden snips & pruned a couple of branches that have been protruding into the sidewalk - posing a hazard to all who are walking. Nothing quite like a stick in the eye when you're not paying attention! So that was my civic good deed for the day.

We too have closed up the house & put the air on - humidity is rising quickly today, as is the heat. No rain for us tho - it's all heading from Pinga's place down to Lake Erie :( It was nice tho to have the windows all open for a couple of days. It's still nice to sit on our porch or in the shady garden & we definitely do that.

I think I might knit a couple of gauge swatches today - or at least start! I decided bravely to tackle knitting a sweater for my dtr for Xmas - my first garment other than a shawl! Pattern looks okay - some big cables & it's a dropped shoulder & slouchy fit - so that should be fine. Except last night I noticed there are some 'short rows - wrap & turn' - another NEW thing for me! It will be good for my brain to get into gear learning something new.

I'm glad you're not giving up because of short rows. They are kind of cool on one hand because they shape the item. There are good instructional videos on YouTube and some good written directions out there. Good luck.

If YouTube could make coffee, it would be perfect... until then, however, we do it ourselves. The coffee and tea cart is ready for your use. Happy Monday!

In the world of the Internet of Things, coffee machines that you can control from an app on your phone so the coffee is ready when you get home are entirely plausible and might even exist already. And coffee makers could put QR codes on the bags so you can program the perfect grind and brewing cycle, too. Isn't living in the future wonderful?

However, us tea drinkers prefer doing things the old-fashioned way. Kettles can't pour themselves and Keurigs make shitty tea. c{_}

I think those coffee makers were a devilish invention designed to make people spend about 4 times as much money on 'normal' coffee as they used to. And the friggin' plastic!

My sister-in-law acquired a permanent metal filter, which is lovely, but 'someone' has to cut coffee filters into little circles to line it, then you have to sort of finagle the coffee using a small spoon into the filter, by which time, you could have put the kettle on to boil, dumped a scoop of coffee into your pourover and sat down to check your e-mail before making a very easy, very cheap, very tasty cup of coffee.

I spent too much money on an exceptional coffee maker. I pour the beans in the top, water in the side, and periodically have to remove grounds and drips from inside.

I get great coffee, espresso, cappucino or latte, when iwant.

Was worth the investment.

It's a warm one in southern ontario. just finished a meeting with someone who had waited to long to vent. Was able to focus on them and figure out an opportunity.

Ah, one of the ones with a built-in grinder. I can see Little M going for one of those when he has more disposal income. We just bought a new kettle but just a nice, basic Hamilton Beach 1.7 litre with detachable base. Nothing fancy, just able to boil water without having to fuss about the cord.
