There is no law against that.But having coffee with a friend can't happen. No handshakes, fist bumps, hugs or shoulder taps or any kind of normal things like that. I'm not a big hugger but I need one from time to time. At least a hand on the shoulder from people who care , just acknowledging I'm a human, I am not a robot. This social distance-love thing isn't healthy long term and it's starting to be long. I'm an adult I can take it, but I know parents social distancing with their 11 yr old at home and they're a huggy family.
Recommendations are to avoid with multiple people. In a household? No one is saying not to do that if no one falls under the isolation criteria, and even then it's for a limited time. Outside of a household, if there are 2 small households most are fine with them acting as 1. Ie. 2 people each living alone can have contact, as long as not falling under isolation criteria.
