There is no law against that.
Recommendations are to avoid with multiple people. In a household? No one is saying not to do that if no one falls under the isolation criteria, and even then it's for a limited time. Outside of a household, if there are 2 small households most are fine with them acting as 1. Ie. 2 people each living alone can have contact, as long as not falling under isolation criteria.

They're doing it because she works as a lab tech at the hospital (she is on call auxiliary) so not sure how much she has been working, and they both own a small neighbourhood grocery store that sells some essentials. I think he and their older son are working at the store lately.

About 3 weeks ago we were going to meet for a walk. I was going to ride down there (across town) and chat in their driveway then go for a walk - but then she changed her mind and wanted to stay limited to her family.

So every thread about corona virus has to be about making the best of it ... there is no room to contemplate where we may be digging our own graves by not paying attention to the rest of it. There are many threads already about making the best of it ... what to make of the worst of it should be tabled for a later date? Adjourned Adjourned Adjourned. That is how we got here in the first place.
